Looks empty behind the basket.
Speaks to the apathy they have toward a cellar dweller in the Big East. Not unlike during other 3-8 conference record campaigns. Have we ever been this far under .500 in conference play since joining a conference?

I certainly dont remember being this bad. Fans will only support so much before it gets old. You see that in the stands

During the hey-dey of the old Big East, only one team never finished below .500 in conference. Marquette. In two years of the new Big East, we can't even sniff .500. Weird.
EDIT: yeah...I guess we were .500 last year. It just seemed like so much less than that due to the overall record (seriously only 9 of those 15 losses were in conference play?) and the high expectations for last season
If I was a student, I wouldn't go and watch 40 minutes of the Derrick show either. Got old about 30 games ago.
We were .500 in conference last year.
There just aren't any options. Incomplete team.

Thank you Brew. Was about to say the same. Seriously guys, it's ONE F*****G YEAR below .500. Chill the f*** out for once.

weren't we suppose to win the conference last year?

What Was your expectation when we joined the Big East?
They don't want to see Derrick dribble for 25 seconds each time down the floor

I think we all thought we'd get slaughtered but performed very well instead, obviously. Since the realignment it's been a different story. Almost embracing being mediocre. We no longer have that fire or intimidation factor we used to have

You say that as though it was relevant to my response...

It has literally not even been 2 years. Christ.

that's part of it though. It's been disappointing how far we've fallen so quickly
We all agree this is brutal. But I question how many teams could afford losing 6 players in a single season plus your leading scorer tonight. Wojo needs a couple of seasons with back to back strong recruiting classes (one already down) to rebuild this mess.

We finished .500 last year! Oh my god, we're not good for one year. Get a grip.

A joy
Chicos - Can you recall an MU team that played in conference that ever fell to 6 games below .500? Don't think even Deane's last teams were this far below .500

Nope. Deane's last year we were 5 games under .500 at one point in conference, finished at 6-10.
Of course, I haven't seen a team lose this many close conference games before in MU history either.

He also needs to do a better job coaching.
Is this another thread blaming the student section for that mess on the court?
I'm a current student who went to that shitshow.....I'm already back home, completely sober.....and YOU guys are the ones bitching?
But in all seriousness, it was a Tuesday night game where I know a lot of people have tests/projects and whatnot tomorrow since we're hitting the first wave of tests. Pretty much anything that doesn't involve watching us play.
And while the Seton Hall W without Carlino and our great start gave me a dose of optimism, that was the most pathetic game I've ever watched in person. We absolutely suck this year - like we all know. What did anyone do on that court to warrant more student participation/attendance?
Just saying that most students have a lot of tests this week. I think the performance on the court is the main reason for a weak showing, but kids having a lot of work definitely doesn't help attendance.
However, I have 4 tests this week and I was there in the 2nd row, got there about an hour and a half before tipoff and stayed until the final buzzer. There are still true fans out there, and the bandwagoners will show up next year if we're as good as I hope we are.
I will never rip on students for not attending a basketball game. They're at MU to learn. That is their first priority--every time. If they're at the library or in some way furthering their education, I applaud them. For many college students, being a fan is not a concern. That's hardly a crime.
Seriously, it's a Tuesday night game and we are awful. What did people expect?
Call me concerned if it's not full for Natty Marquette Day.
The team sucks this year, what do you expect? Not everyone is a die-hard fan. Even sitting at the game is frustrating, why would anyone put themselves through that in person?
all I'm saying is that if 100 more students show up, Marquette only loses by 18

Glad so many here have their priorities in line. What a group. ::)
Legalize weed in the Bradley Center district.
Only solution.
Does anyone know that husky kid in the first row who wears the Dominic James jersey every game? Seems like he's been going to Marquette for 8 years.
