The No. 11/13 Marquette University men's basketball team will look to add another regular-season tournament banner to the rafters of the Bradley Center when the team faces No. 13/10 Duke in the championship game of the 2007 EA Sports Maui Invitational Wednesday night.

The Golden Eagles advanced to the title matchup following a 91-61 victory over Oklahoma State, while Duke downed Illinois 79-66 in its semifinal contest. ESPN will have the broadcast live at 9 p.m. CT from the Lahaina Civic Center.

Marquette opened the tournament with a 74-63 win over host Chaminade Monday morning and followed that up with the victory over the Cowboys. MU is hoping to claim the trophy for the BIG EAST for the sixth time since 1984 and first since Connecticut in 2005.

Marquette/Duke Beginning Annual Series?
Wednesday's matchup between the Golden Eagles and the Blue Devils will mark the one-year anniversary of their most recent meeting and for the second-straight time the victor will not only claim the non-conference contest, but a tournament title as well.

On Nov. 21, 2006, Marquette earned a 73-62 win over No. 9/8 Duke in the championship game of the CBE Classic in Kansas City, Mo.

Guard Dominic James led all scorers with 25 points and seven assists and classmate Jerel McNeal chipped in 17 points and six steals.

Marquette shot 45.8 percent from the field and forced 19 turnovers in the victory.

Complete Effort Leads To Win Over Oklahoma State
An impressive performance at both ends of the court led to an impressive 91-61 victory over Oklahoma State.

The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 13-2 lead and never looked back in the 30-point victory. MU shot 52.6 percent from the field overall and 64.7 percent from long distance. Each of the nine players to see extended action scored at least one point and five finished in double figures.

At the defensive end, Marquette held OSU to 39.0 percent and forced 19 turnovers. Oklahoma State's miscues turned into 30 MU points.
