No, really.
They're on a mission to take away as many bids possibe for the Big East come March.

I was thinking the same thing. There out of conference was so bad that every time they win they just hurt their opponents chances even more. Sad and bizzare how they are 4-2
Great.... superbar

I think as the Blue Demons are a member of Big East, their performance relates to Marquette basketball.

Not untrue. However, the mods stated early in the season that all posts about other teams should be placed in the superbar and only direct marquette posts will remain in the Al.

Are you saying the same for MU or are we different?

So the Jameel McKay and Diamond Stone threads belong there too, I guess.

We still have a chance at an at large bid, granted it's very small, but DePaul has absolutely no chance unless they win out or come close to it, and that's not going to happen.

Not really, they are a strange team. They play either good or really really bad. They are tough to beat at home when they are on their game. They also beat a good Stanford team at home during the non-conference. They are 3-3 against the RPI top 50.

I agree this belongs in the superbar... but we stated that? (and yes, I have a bad memory...)

I can't remember exactly which post it occurred in, and, to be honest, don't remember the exact language used, but yes, that was the jist of the message

Really? I would think that MU has no chance unless they win out or come close to it, and I wouldn't think that is going to happen.
Maybe people should just realize that DePaul has been playing well since the start of conference play and they actually have a real basketball team this year.
DePaul is playing well. At this point, we are going to be hard pressed to beat them. If we do it becomes a decent win.
I hate to play St. John's after they have come off a loss like that.

They are 4-2. We are 2-3. They beat us, yet they have no chance and we do. Do yourself a favor, take off the rose colored glasses.

Neither of us has a chance. Their non-conference was too poor. Our conference will probably be too poor. And their conference will probably be too poor as well. Let them come back down to Earth.

I think they will play the games, like us, and they will try to win, like us, with or without a chance to gain a bid. No one is going to tank for the benefit of the BE, nor should they. It is hard to believe we are lamenting about the good fortune of a team that is showing signs of life this season.
You are likely correct that DePaul will not continue to win but I will not begrudge someone's success, like ours, if it unlikely occurs, which would at a minimum impact seeding of other BE teams.

So we have a chance.
My guess is we win 7-9 Big East games and make the NIT. But if we win more (10-11) we're probably in the tournament. We definitely "have a chance". It may not be a great chance, but 10-8 and a couple wins at MSG would do it, and that's not at all impossible.

I'm with Rocky, I don't recall anything like that.
I'm guessing none of the mods really notice what board a message is posted in, as we likely all have bookmarked "read unread messages" http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0 ..
I have zero idea where a message is posted until someone (cough) is unhappy with its placement.
In conclusion, DePaul, stop winning. You're supposed to be the doormat, not us.

Fair enough. Not a big deal either way, i suppose.
Wasn't intending to question/insult the mods.

Really needed 2 of Gtown, X and DePaul. Man we let those get away eeeeeeek.
We have one chance and that is to win the conference tournament. I actually like are chances to do that. The tournament is often won by a team that has a guard that gets hot in the tournament. A perfect setup for a Carlino, JJJ or a Duane Wilson.

If we get 2 of St John's, Butler, Providence, Seton Hall, and Creighton on the road and mostly hold serve at home we would have a good chance. That said, I do feel DePaul and Xavier were two of the easier opportunities. Especially as we had double digit leads in the second half of both games. :-\

No offense taken .. (I) kinda used it as a chance to mention .. it's not a big deal when a message is on the wrong board.
And they just beat a ranked team on the road.
DePaul, tied for first place, MU, one rung from the bottom. That says quite a bit for this season.
Yes. It is a rebuilding year. As expected.

Good. You agree it is a rebuilding year. Who should get major minutes at PG if we are rebuilding?

You're lucky no one actually takes you seriously because your attempts to derail every thread into the same discussions about Buzz and Derrick rival Ners, and that got him the banhammer.
Derrick. There are still only 8 players. Of the 8, I would say that combined offense and defense, he is playing the third best on the team. And some nights I would say second. Even in a rebuilding year, even with young guys going to take over the point next year, you reward the guy who is continuing to bust his butt on both ends, the one who is showing the young guys how hard you have to work. Because that is one the lessons that Wojo is teaching. Effort and attitude and defense and rebounding matter.
