Wojo for having Juan on top of the 1-3-1.  If he had him there before my mistake but he's disruptive up there.

can a coach be SOTG?

I nominate this as the worst timed thread of the year. That said it's gotta be Carlino cause of that shot but Duane was a stud all game long.

Derrick Wilson. Clutch 3s and playing better D on their big than our bigs could.

This was without a doubt Derricks worst game of the year. Don't let the 3s blind you.

For all the "chucker" talk.  He hit 6-10 tonight.  60% is never bad for a guard.

Anyhow, easy stud tonight.  Or we can rename it to the "Shot of the game" this week if you prefer.

Damn. If 6 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, 2 turnovers, 1 foul (that should have been a steal), 2-3 3P, is a player's worst game, that is pretty damn good.

Really not sure what game you were watching. Derrick came up big on D and contributed in a lot of ways.

I was watching the game where Marquette eeked out a 53-32 win against Creighton on Wednesday January 14th, 2015.

If you watched that game an came away impressed with Derrick, I am sorry but you just have god awful standards. Don't get me wrong...Juan, Steve, JJJ, Luke and Sandy all looked just as bad or even worse.

Everyone played pretty nice on defense but Creighton really couldn't shoot. Derrick was a disaster on offense in the second half with everyone not named Duane or Matt. This isn't an opinion.

Derrick is a point guard. His job is to get others the ball. When he manages 5 assists in a game where 5/7 of his teammates were a trainwreck, that is a pretty good game. This is an opinion but one based on fact. Your's was an opinion based on a knee jerk reaction that anytime we look bad on offense it must be Derrick Wilson's fault. He was one of three players who actually showed up to play today.

He literally sat with the ball at the top of the key and on the wing by our bench 3 possessions in a row.

1 of which Luke gave the most priceless rattled face and quickly ran to set a screen to try something....Derrick just dropped it back to Juan who had to toss up a Kobe 3 as the clock went down.

He had to lay up attempts that we just outrageous...luckily one of them was one of Juans few nice plays of the day and he got a bucket out of it.

As annoying as Ners is with his blind Derrick bashing...you rival it on the obnoxious sticking up for him. It's ok for the guy to have a bad game once in a while, really not the end of the world. And he probably won't even know you admitted it!!!!

I do, when he has a bad game. 6 points, 3 boards, 5 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, 2 turnovers, 1 foul (that was actually his 4th steal), 2-3 3P. Compare that with what his teammates did this game. He manages that stat line, in a game where the team as a whole played terrible, I am very happy.

He actually had 2 blocks but they gave one of his to Juan. Also took a big charge. He was clearly the best defensive player on the floor, made 2 threes and had 5 of our 13 assists (39%). 8 guys played - 5 of them played like crap, 3 didn't. Derrick was one of the three.

Nobody should be a STOG.

Geez, if that's my stud, I'd hate to see the offspring.

The game was terrible. We never should have let them get close. We played half asleep on offense most of the game and it seemed as if Wojo was trying to get them to drive the basket. We were fortunate that the 3s hit, otherwise it would have been a disaster.

It's a learning experienec this year, that's for sure. Would someone PLEASE teach Luke to avoid the ticky tack crap -- or at least hide it!

So the guy who shoots the third most on the team and leads the team in assists is a chucker? You have a unique definition.

Per the mods, we have a stud when we win, and no stud when we don't win.

Personally, I have seen some pretty studly performances during games that were losses, but them's the rules.

Always figured you shot from the hip TAMU. Third most on the team? He leads the team in shots--not even close. You have a unique definition of "shoots third most on the team". But then again, you should never let facts get in the way of your exalted opinion.

TAMU I'm sure is talking about percentage of shots taken, which is a more meaningful statistic in terms of how much a guy actually shoots. When Matt is on the court, he takes 23.0% of the shots for Marquette. That's third behind Jajuan (27.0%) and Duane (23.4%). If they played equal minutes, Carlino would not lead the team in shots taken. But because Matt plays 4 mpg more than Duane and 10 minutes more than Jajuan, he has taken more total shots.

Oh OK, slice the stats anyway you want to. That is not what he said. Next the excuse will be that he was talking about the last game. The fact is he has "chucked" the most shots. Doesn't matter--he is a good player.

Brew described exactly what I was referring to. You knew this too. Or at least should have. The stat has been used in response to your chucker label for Carlino before.

You see but you do not observe  ;)
