Could be any number of Warriors, but I'll go with:
1. JjJ. Quick moves to the hoop, nice passes and the occasional outside shot falls. Bet quick on D today as well.
2. Luke. almost a double double and opens space in the lane. He sees the court well and also makes the good pass.
3. Carlino. Good to see his outside shot fall some.
4. Juan and Du played very well too and Chief with a very good showing. Give it to the Chief?
Good to see a 4 game streak going into the Big East.
Cohen!!!
6 guys in double figures so a lot to choose but I go JJJ.
We went on the big 1st half run with him in and he was really the key to a lot of our transition whether he scored or made a pass.
Luuuuuuke.
I'll go with JJJ. The transition play is expected of him by now, but he's looking more comfortable in the half court on both ends and managed four rebounds and a career high five assists.
JJJ
Not many bad picks. Throw a blindfolded dart at a poster and pick whoever it hits.
Cohen for extreme efficiency (11 points in 12 minutes) and for stepping up when the scoop community challenged him to get an SOTG.
Jajuan, though Juan, Carlino, or Luke would be okay picks. Lots of quality performances today, but no one guy really stood out above the rest.
JjJ, Car3no, and Juan all had great games, but in my mind, Luke is the only choice. Lead scorer, lead rebounder, three blocks, and dozens of altered shots? No one else impacted the game more.
Actually...Can I vote for Blake Bozeman? He's just as terrible as I expected. Threw away a lot of possessions and didn't find the scoreboard until the result was beyond doubt. Proof that playing a guy simply because he shares your last name is a recipe for bad coaching.
Juan.
A vote for JJJ.
JaJuan Johnson.
I never would have believed we would have a game with six guys in double figures (and Bane wasn't one of them) if you had told me that before the start of the year. Even without Stevie getting a bucket, this is as close to a complete team victory as we can possibly get this season. SOTG should be Wojo for getting everyone to share the ball.
If Sandy Cohen ever gets one this year, this could be the game. 11 points with 3 of 4 on three point attempts and 2 for 2 on free throws. One rebound, one assist, one block, no turnovers and played defense pretty well.
Lots of worthy candidates but I go with Luke. We're a totally different team when he's in the game.

Agree--Sandy!
I'm going Juan.
Sandy. It's hard to come in cold and hit two 3s.
Sandy
Okay, Sandy had a nice game off the bench, but the kid didn't score until over halfway through the second half when the game was well in hand. I feel that our totally made up award should at least go to someone who affected the game when it was still in contention...even if that was only about the first five minutes.
Luke
Luke
Juan was 1-5 from free throw line, so that eliminates him.
1. JJJ
2. Fischer
3. Cohen
However, if you factor in that Cohen got his in only 12 minutes, than I would vote for Cohen.

Agreed ... and it's even harder to hit three of them, like he did today.
I am your father, Luke
Cohen, most improved. Give it to him.
Sandy. For doing exactly what he's supposed to do. And for playing passable defense.
Luke changed the game, as usual. First few minutes were horrid without him.
JJJ doesn't do anything without Luke, and JJJ is straight-up bad at defense. He's a step slow like Burton was.

Yeah, because Luke helps him shoot the ball ::) his defense is also coming around and don't think its bad.
Juan. Hard working always, great hustle, great game.

I disagree with that. I was watching the game with my dad who has no vested interest in the game and was watching it from a coaches standpoint and he said that Derrick was the laziest zone defender on the team. Different from man but if we're running the zone would rather have Jajuan.

Don't do drugs kids
1. Juan
2. JJJ
3. Luke
Sandy did a great job, but the game was long over when he hit his shots.
JJJ had an excellent game .

Luke was the gamechanger with nine rebounds and three steals on defense.
JJJ and Luke.
LUKE
Luke.
Great team game, but Luke was the SOTG. Tonight was a microcosm of how he has changed the entire trajectory of MU's season.
Luke - 15 pts / 9 rbds / 3 Asts / 1 To
Sandy
Luke
JJJ
Luke had a great game, he and JJJ changed the flow entirely when they came in but I thought Juan was doing everything on the court. He was even helping to break the Morgan State press early on opening up the Carlino 3's to get the team rolling...Juan Anderson is my pick.
jjj
JjJ.
Luke
Luke
I guess we are becoming just like the PC people--everybody deserves a medal, or an A, so it is Sandy's turn. Then we must give Steve one, and the circle of life will be complete.
I'm gonna go with JJJ on this one

Juan could not guard #34/Blossom. Most of his baskets were in transition off steals and his 3-pointer was off a great pass from JJJ. As well as the 1 of five from the charity stripe. Gotta go with JJJ and Luke.
1) Luke
2) JjJ
JjJ
Toss-up between Juan, JJJ, and Luke. I have to eliminate Juan due to the missed free throws (1-5). Jujuan had some really nice offensive plays but tiebreaker goes to Luke for the blocked shots and rebounding.
Fischer.
Dominated physically, statistically and by his mere presence on the court.
Folks love to throw the "difference-maker" term around, but IMHO he is the Warriors' first real difference-maker since the start of last season because he absolutely changes a game defensively while also being a factor offensively.

MU is very average without Fischer, with him, we have a shot at the NCAA's. My game vote is for Luke and his continued development as the season wears on is the key as to if we make any noise this year.

The game was over, when we won the tip. Basically, it was never a competitive game.
Give it to Luuuuuke already.
Had to go with JJJ. Played a good game, and showed us how fast he really is.
Luke, and Juan played very well too.

I think any time a critical piece of a team is missing, it will become sorely evident. With no Junior or Vander Blue last year Marquette was only mediocre. Hence, if they were present your logic would state that those should be the SOTG the majority of times since MU is only mediocre without them.

You could replace "Fischer" with "Juan," "Derrick," "JaJuan," "Duane," "Steve," or "Matt," and you'd still be right. Our roster is small enough that losing anyone except
possibly Sandy would make us a mediocre team this season.

We have only 8 players so everyone is important, but Luke is head and shoulders above whoever is our second most important player.

Not true, Fischer brings very important aspects of the game that no one else on this roster comes close to bringing. We operate as a team at a different level when Fischer is in the game.

Never denied that Luke brings unique skills. Still, with a roster of 8 (and for the most part 7), your original statement could easily apply to anyone in the regular rotation - that we're likely a very average team if we lose any of them. Just look at the SOTG list so far....

I see your point, definitely couldn't lose Luke, Juan or Steve. I think we could possibly absorb a guard injury and still be effective but point taken.

Do you think he started out with a large headband so he won't have to keep sliding father it up his head as he goes bald?
