Dewill as SOTG for ND means we had 6 different guys in 7 games.
And as I noted in a post last week, 6 different players have scored 20 points this year (all except Dewill and Cohen) and 2 have score 30 (Duane and Carlino).
Is this most balanced team we have ever seen? We may have only 8 players but it seems that 7 of them are capable of leading in scoring and/or putting up SOTG numbers on any given night. And the eighth (Cohen) could by in this group late this season or next season.
Agree?
I think Steve Taylor will get one before the end of the season, but Sandy is going to have hope that he gets real hot against Morgan State.
I would bet serious cash that Steve gets at least one at somepoint.
But Cohen is going to have to have a Dawson vs Gtown type game to get 1
I predict that Pete Thaus will not get SOTG this year.

Well, no ... not if Wojo stupidly keeps playing Derrick ahead of him.

I actually laugh at his.
I think this shows a lot of inconsistency on the team. We do not have a player like Crowder who can bring it every game, so as a result we depend on someone getting the hot hand.

I take it as we got 6 Crowders right now
As Sultan said, Sandy is the tough one. Basically need an injury, probably multi-game one as I think Sandy getting serious minutes will not produce a SOTG the first game. Will take multiple games.

I could see Sandy getting one if he gets hot and hits 4 or 5 threes in a low-scoring conference game.

Would definitely prefer that one versus my injury scenario!
Steve yes, Sandy no.

Well first he actually has to put on a uniform and sit on the bench (which has not been the case the last two games).
If losses produced a SOTG, Steve would already have one. And with his improved play this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the side of the forum.
Sandy won't. The only chance he has is Morgan State on Sunday. He won't see enough minutes to be SOTG after that.
Hell, you guys make it sound like this is a scientific poll. It's entirely up to the mods. If they can give it to Frozena they sure as sh1t can award it to Cohen to complete the sweep. If they have a hair on their ass they'll do the right thing and make this happen to add luster to the mystique of the Scoop Chronicles.

You forgot the first round of the tourney when we play the 16-seed.
I expect Steve to get at least one SOTG.
For Sandy, it would probably have to be against Morgan State or if he gets unexpected PT due to foul trouble or injuries. Not out of the question, but not very likely.

Steve was SOTG twice last year and once his freshman year.

I was replying to the question, which specifically asked about "this year." I didn't realize I had to repeat the whole question in my answer.

Sandy will get his shots. All it takes is Juan, Steve, or Luke getting 3 first half fouls to basically guarantee that Sandy gets at least 20 minutes.

I can see him getting a Kinsella moment. Gets some playing time, catches fire from 3 and puts up 15-18 points on way to SOTG.

Mike hitting the second three was close to as loud as I've ever heard the BC. If he had hit the third, we'd have had a new arena built several years ago....
Being the Christmas season, I'm wishing for Derrick to have 3...3's (1 Game) this season. Merry Christmas Derrick!
I dont see STJR getting one, I think Sandy has a great chance to get hot.
3-4 from deep 15-17 pts.
