For what it's worth butler was ranked 15 maybe we aren't as far behind the other BE teams as we think.

FWIW, I didn't think we were behind. I am on record as saying we could go 11-7. Tennessee and GT would be middle of the road teams in the BE and we beat both.

I wrote it after the Tennessee game that there are four or five teams exactly like the Vols in conference and Wojo showed a game plan that can get us a win. Nothing has occurred in the first six weeks to make me think MU won't be competitive in conference.
That written, Butler was wildly overrated to be at #15. So too are the Johnnies at #20.

Maybe, but based on body of work, they weren't/aren't.

St John's is both underrated and overrated. They have top 10 talent and 10 cent brains. At their best, they look like they can play with anyone, but at their worst they look like they can lose to anyone.

Great insight an so true.
I nominate this for post of the year pithy category.
A lot of St Johns has to do with the fact that they have the athleticism to play with anyone but they lack a lot of basketball skill and size.
