Did you see the Georgia Tech game?...he is the opposite of Thomas.

In fact his first shot today was strictly him getting open.

I never understand fouls when we play UW.  Our guys drive into their players who are moving and there is body contact, never a foul.  Kaminsky drives into our guy, jumps into him and he shoots 2.  Never makes sense.

Very true, we needed a lights out shooting night and some favorable refereeing to win this one.  We are getting neither right now.

We are getting some very solid defense though, otherwise this would be even more ugly.

Keep attacking and playing good D.  Hopefully some of the shots amongst the trees start to fall, or we can get to the line.

Down 10 at half, but largely because of difficulty getting clean shots inside.

The D has been good. The rebounding OK given the zone and height disadvantage.

However, I am disappointed with Steve Taylor. He does not seem to have any hustle and not much B-ball IQ either.

They need shooting and the 3-4th best shooter on the team watches the game from the sideline.

Wisconsin is good.   Their stay at home, pack the line defense with great size is exceedingly difficult for our offense without any size to penetrate.   Unless MU rains contested 3's, it isn't going to improve.    Nobody is playing well, nobody can get off an easy shot.   Defense looks solid but we are getting roasted on the boards.   How is any of this a surprise?
Title: Re: Wisconsin Game Thread
Post by: KipsBayEagle on December 06, 2014, 12:35:40 PM
I don't know why anyone is complaining.  We are playing excellent defense against a team that includes a 7 foot all-american.  The offense is at the very least aggressive, no more passing the ball around the top of the key for 25 seconds.  If we had taken perhaps a few more jumpers and kick outs instead of bad drives this would be a low single digit game.  All this with 8 guys, not one taller than 6'7.  This is quite excellent coaching.

That is twice they changed who the foul was on.  That one looked like a pretty clear foul for Dukan, his 3rd, but they changed it.

Also, a very blatant over the back, that would have been Dukan's fourth, but a no call.

Don't like going back to starting lineup. Cohen and Burton sparked.

Agreed. Teve and Juan look gassed

I'd almost take Bart Miller and Chris Grimm over No. 12.
As point guards?

Watching this team makes me long for the days of the freshman/sophomore out of control drives from Vander Blue.

Those at least had a chance of going in.  Hard to compete when you go six+ minutes without a FG missing multiple bunnies.

knock down the free throws, cut it to 6, 2 min left and this is doable.  know em down matt

Not surprising given the size disadvantage. Just needs to learn to outlet pass more. Excellent play by and undersized team. Great effort. Fischer is going to help. We will be competitive this season and it will always be exciting.

It was a good effort from an outmatched team.  I like our chances of doing fairly well in the conference this year.
