Looking forward to seeing the interaction, if any.
I have a feeling neither one of them are as obsessive over what happened as some fans on this board. Doubt if there will be anything significant that occurs.
Buzz didn't even have the decency to call DJ Newbill to give him the bad news. He doesn't care. With that in mind, I am sure DJ will play with a chip on his shoulder. Other than that, nothing extreme will happen.
Hope he drops 40 on the mofo and gives him the cold tit.
So the first newbill thread is moved to the superbar did you take it as another thread about a player who never set foot on campus and our ex coach needed to be on the marquette basketball page?
Penn State-Virginia Tech is a classic hoops matchup.

It almost happened in the Finals of the famed NIT back in 1995 on the court of the World's Most Famous Arena, no less, but Legendary Coach Mike Deane and his Clutch Prime Time Performer Aaron Hutchins had other plans!

Laugh if you want, but that was a helluva exciting run in the NIT. That was a devastating loss!

In my 4 years at MU:
NCAA S16
NIT Runner-up
NCAA Second Round
NCAA First Round CUSA T Champs
It was a great 4 years. And you're right, the NIT was a fun, fun run especially because we saw the development of Hutch and Amal among others.
I wish I had a copy of that USF game at the Arena. First time I had ever been in the old barn, and it rocked that night. Still remember Chucky Atkins missing the FT, and Hutch drilling the three to ice it in OT.

Maybe Bluto and Popeye or the Joker and Batman would be closer to it. Either way have little interest in history.

I also remember the run to the lake during the snowfall.
My bro was at MU during a HS senior visit.
Pure AWESOMENESS!
Newbill with his first point, a FT at the 15:44 mark of the first half.
Not a good half for Newbill so far. Just got his first point on a free throw right before the under 4 timeout. Seemed to be trying to force things early.
Gosh darn it all....Buzz lost ...... ;D
Iowa is about to win at UNC too. Big Ten will win the challenge with three games to play.
Newbill with 18, PSU wins by 3. Twitter says the handshake was without incident.

Hoping he would Crean him.
It was a non-event. Quick handshake, moving on. Perhaps, now, we can too?!

Hill chokes at the buzzer!!
The guy who went 0-7 from the line choked worse. Guess he hasn't practiced free throws in a long time.

Hill is going to be very good.
Yup, not a great shooting night but had 9 rebounds.

I know! Really depresses me that he didn't stick with us. Onward and upward.
Quite the surreal recap of that game. Two deserter demons for VA Tech somewhat exorcized by someone done wrong by us. And only insane people that hang out on this forum would ever be privy to that subplot.
In the little I saw, Satchel Pierce looked like he'll be useful. Good frame, decently mobile running the floor, definitely some potential though still raw.
Board is pretty funny. I remember ripping buzz for what he did to Newbill and nearly everyone defended Buzz. I liked Buzz, but he was always kind of phony. I don't trust people who have to tell other people what they're like. He loves his story.
Superbar....please

That was hilarious, but no one else noticed including the shooter for Penn State. Everyone stood still except for the guy that got the put back.
I remember Travis making a basket the same way in the 2004-05 season. No one knew it was a 1-on-1 except him.
Glad Buzz lost.... Go DJ
The phony cowboy receives his just deserts and nowhere can the Slurptan be found to defend his ass. Probably religiously surfing Buzz's website for tidbits of quality info.

And even the guy with the put back went back to his spot on the paint like another free throw was coming.

What exactly should anyone be trying to defend?

It was funny to see Buzz never moved from his crouch and Chew had his hands in the air wondering what was going on. The State bench, meanwhile, were all standing and clapping the smart play. A reminder that even coaches need to be fully engaged.
