Had a great turkey dinner.
Mrs. Chili made great side dishes and cheese cake. I made the turkey, gravy, and mashed potatoes. Awesome, as usual.
Now, for dessert, Yellow Jacket pie. Nummy.
GO WARRIORS!!!!!!
Game is still tied at zero, zero. Go Marquette! Oh, game hasn't started.
The game started the moment the NJIT game ended.
Fire up Marquette!
Gotta good feelin. Let's go quette!
Expecting a big game from Duane.
Tech by 16.
I'm just hoping it's a reasonably close 16.

Wave to me on tv. :o
hoping to see progress
Wojo has good hair, much better than our last two coaches.
Contain the Maryland transfer, Charles Mitchel. Big and strong.
Stupid NBA three point line.
good shot carlino. 3 ft behind the NBA 3pt line
I just don't understand starting 3 PGs
Steve already biffing layups.
Idk how you can be this bad at something so simple
Steve missed a bunny.
Wojo goes zone D
Good to see some adaptation from Wojo.
Little pack line and zone defense!
Nice call coach.
Ring it up....charge numero uno!!
We look tense
Great look and make for Carlino.
Keep it up boys!
Hopefully this is the good version of carlino
Being more aggressive. I like it.
Steve is ass. Straight up ass.
Offense feeds off defense!
Stick his a$$
We're playing well right now!!
And Dawson sure ain't letting lack of PT hurt him. No Todd sulk.
Zone looks good. Wonder if it's only because GT wasn't expecting it though. Allows our more aggressive guys to jump lanes naturally.
Transition game is on point.
Body language alert: Dawson involved in bench celebrations.
Great start. Zone suiting them well and nice to see us benefit from transition rather than just be victims of it.
Fast starts are always welcome.
Thankfully their guy followed up derricks usual brick with an even worse shot
I'll take it so far. Hope they can keep it up. I like the zone.
MU was up seven with Dwil on bench. Back in and offense looks stagnant.
Wish Taylor could make those short ones.
Appears only minutes Burton are getting as Taylor's backup.

Luckily GT does too

His shot selection drives me crazy sometimes.
Carlino forcing too much
"Carlino just sees the iron"
Carlino looks like he has tunnel vision. Made a few shots, great, now he wants to shoot every time he touches the ball.
Carlino so intelligent on his shot selection
What was the Wojo "wants to change culture" comment by one of the announcers a reference to?
Carlino the chucker. Hits a few then shoots every time it gets the ball.
Five of last six possessions are brutal. GaTech is cold and MU blowing it. Just ugly again.
Carlino out of control, jeez.....
Dwil standing at top of key, just dribbling........
Really not a fan of Carlino's game. Way too selfish but who knows, we really need points.
Looking for Duane to be more assertive. Let's go bud!
I just don't understand how someone can be that bad at lay ups
Carlino is an incorrigible chucker.
Seriously how does Steve miss some of those?

Three of them so far within three feet. He has had a rough three games scoring.
This is an ugly game now after a good five minutes.
Carlino from half court!!!
I like confident Carlino.
Is touch around the rim something that can de developed? Is more playing time the answer, will it get better as we go through the season? I ask because it would be nice if Steve Taylor Jr. could make a few shots in close.
Ga tech is really bad. I'm not confident we hold this lead.
But man, most years we beat this tech team by 30
I'm glad Carlino is making these shots but I still think they're just bad shots
Is it me or are teams playing Derrick Wilson relatively close. Not as much sag off the ball this season.
Think it is just in Taylor's head right now.
Should get him some more touches on the block to work and not think as much.

People are going to blow up a ton at Carlino this year. Mark it down. His mindset. "Shooters gotta shoot" -jim rome
Not sure how I feel about the 2-3 zone yet but it seems to be working alright, especially since GT is not shooting terribly well. Add Luke into the middle with his length and we could have something.

Bad turnovers.
Bad defense by Dwil on that three ball. Just too small to play in back on d in that zone.
And Taylor misses another one, then fouls.
Stj needs focus on 3 footers before trying 10-15 footers on the run.
Omg offense is Derrick stand there like and idiot until Jujuan says give me the ball I'll make an effort.
Wow! Taylor 1-5 on layups, then commits a frustration foul 90 feet from the hoop, his 2nd and puts Ga Tech in the bonus. Horrible sequence. Hope Steve gets it going in the 2nd half.

Decent first half. Only really this close because of Carlino. They need to play better in the second half if they want to win this.

I remember beating Oklahoma State by a fairly large margin as well. I believe it was in the Maui Invitational.
We still need more active rebounding. Tech is big, but our guys still ball watch too much on missed shots.
Halftime thoughts: 1. Just not deep enough to extend the defense.
2. Carlino giveth, Carlino giveth back. Nice to see him hit 3's.
3. STjr needs to hit some layups.
4. The zone wasn't bad, but it didn't really help with rebounding.
5. Somebody else is going to have to do something offensively. Carlino 15, the rest of the team 14 ain't gonna get it done.
6. The team seems settled into their roles and their rotations. Just need somebody else to score.
7. Am I the only one who saw Wojo working the refs? .....they're shooting and they've been called for 3 fouls....
MU getting destroyed on the boards, 21-11.
If Carlino didn't make a few bombs, its a much larger GaTech lead. They are not real good.
Taylor has two points, with many short misses. He has not shown any offensive skills in three games.
Cohen and Burton played short minutes.
No boards, no scoring from upfront with Taylor/Anderson, MU will start the three point assault.........and hope.

Team, however, is moving the ball somewhat better and playing somewhat better D.

Have never seen any big man miss as many bunnies as STJr. I know, he's playing against big big men and might be a little paranoid about the block, but come on. I know he saw almost no time last year, and this year is early, but I have the fear that JJJ will not pan out.

Yeah it's incredible. The whole gophers front line did that yesterday vs St.Johns.
But this is the norm for Steve. It sucks because he gets himself good opportunities. He just can't finish. That's the frustrating part.

Juan rebounds well, it's just the lack of effort elsewhere that gets me. Steve isn't even trying if he doesn't think he'll get a put back. Carlino got a couple defensive boards but it seems like no one other than Juan is going for rebounds that don't come right to them.
Don't give up just yet. In spite of major flaws we are still in this game. If STJ can settle down and if Carlino sits or starts player as a team leader, rather than a lead chucker, we can win this.
Whatever beer the next family member coming down to the basement brings to me.

Classic Jajuan. I really hope he gets better at that as he learns the defense.

Derrick pushing at every opportunity tonight. As opposed to last season, when he would deliberately walk/slow it down. And, as I said last year, I don't think that was Derrick's decision. I am pretty sure it wass Buzz telling Derrick to play slow, not Derrick's decision or inability.

Are you going to the UW game next weekend?
Not the plan, but I might change it up.

Anyone hating on Derrick right now after this half has no concept of the game. No, he can't make free throws but he's had a fantastic second half.
Yep.
Being an ardent Derrick defender despite many games of poor performance has become almost an art on this board.
He plays alright defense and is the worst offensive player in two decades yet there remains this cult who love to tout his intangibles. He might be a great kid but he is not a huge help on he basketball court.
So glad we won especially after how well we played. ;D
Complain when we win. Complain about the guy who scores 38 points. With that level of expectation some people on this board must think this is a final four team. Just be happy about the fact we won a game we were supposed to lose and be happy for Wojo and the team.

Well look it's Mr. Muscoop. You must have taken my advice and had some family time today. You might have to pull a 24 hr shift on here to catch up on all the day's activities and comment on every single post.
Go to bed, boys. Pick it up in the morning.
