You've got 3 front line players who aren't good defensively to start with and none are really used to playing center. If the guards can't keep their man in front of them (which they certainly couldn't today) MU may have to play a zone so the forwards don't have to recover as far and know what their assignments are. A zone will have its problems as well, like possibly making this terrible rebounding problem worse. But you can't allow a team to just get to the hoop at will as has been the case the last 2 games.
A zone would have the added benefit reducing the fouls which we have to guard against with such a short bench. I'd play zone some against NJIT if only just to give it some game reps. We're going to need it to stay in the games over Thanksgiving.
How can you play zone when no one helps out or gets back on defense?

I agree some zone may help, particularly when Fischer can play. But zone nor man can help with the poor transition defense. Need to get that resolved first then worry about half court d.
Not enough height or length to play a decent zone assuming the transition D gets better.
First ya gotta get back on D before the opponent, aina?
Yea, gotta get back on D first. Don't know how you can blame Wojo for that. I'm sure he didn't tell his players, "let's jog back instead of sprint"
