Maybe send an E Mail to him & his editor, about the great job he's doing... Esp vs Mike Hunt... Actually, I think he is even doing better than Rosiak... ;D

Hope Dawson improves and gets some playing time. He has a good size body and had some good moments last season..

He is doing an outstanding job.  Seems to know the program/history quite well - and makes me so curious as to if he was the "MattyV" who posted here a lot last season...

Indeed to not crack a lineup of just 9 people with one hurt against cupcakes in an exhibition and the first game of the year is puzzling....

Hope he continues to develop because it surely would suck to ride the pine all year while everyone else plays 20-25 MPG.....

I like this Heath Schroyer guy:

"I think Steve is going to do a great job," Schroyer said. "He is a good coach. Marquette is a big time program. I don't know anyone that is at Marquette and hadn't won. It is one of those type of jobs. I've had three massive rebuilding jobs that are really hard. Steve will be fine, Marquette will always win and Steve will do a great job."

I don't think so. IIRC, the poster MattyV lived in Los Angeles and worked in business analytics for the auto industry or something along those lines.

Idk why i remember that, but I do.

I am guessing that Dawson will be gone after this season. It's too bad, because he's got a lot of talent.

Whoa! Pump the brakes. The guy sits out the 2nd half during a meaningless game and all of the sudden, he's leaving the program after the season? Let's not read too much into it.

Inappropriate to speculate at this time.

Could happen, but I don't expect it. Dawson and his dad sound pretty grounded. Players know who deserves to be on the floor. I don't think most 2-stars will expect to see a lot of time especially on a team that has recruited well. Every team has guys that don't get a lot of PT, but they still wanna be at the school anyway.

Agree.

Dawson has the ability to be part of something special.  He will contribute significantly, in his own way.

Not sure if you are stating this for 2-star guys in general or implying that Dawson was a  2-star guy.  In any case, Dawson was a 3-star player IIRC.

I think Dawson might have a tough year, but with Derrick and Carlino leaving, I think he has a chance to play big minutes next year.  Hope he stays.

I'd say John and his Dad would have to be pretty grounded to have not flown off the handle last season..especially after the GTown game/performance..and to then never be given another good chance at 20-30 minutes of PT.

Hope John gets a chance to show what he can do given 20 minutes per game a few games this pre-season, as he's a talented player.

I did very much like what I heard Juan say in his postgame - He talked of his up and primarily down experience thus far at MU, yet that this year is looking up - and he went on to say - I remind John and Duane to remember it is a marathon not a sprint.  Essentially said it's not how you start, its how you finish.  Yet within even having said that himself, Juan wanted to transfer after his sophomore year.

Know your history, Juan didn't want to transfer because of playing time issues.  It was a far bigger concern and one that everyone understands.

Go ahead and enlighten us.  I know "family" reasons were initially given as a reason.  Had heard he was homesick as well.  Also heard that when there was no interest shown by Pac 10 schools that also caused him to reconsider.

Ners, Juan had legitimate reasons for almost transferring. It had nothing to do with being homesick nor was his decision to stay related to speculation here on Scoop that Cal didn't offer.
