Inside look at Wojo's life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vG6IHo4x2ys
Good find. Hopefully the first of many to come.
Kinda like Life's Lessons, aina?
I believe this is the first of two episodes.
Watching him coach during the last minute got me so fired up.
Well done piece. The story of his background: his working class parents, his community (seems a lot like Milwaukee to me) and his drive all paint the picture of a man of character honed by coach whose own character sets the bar. The love and respect between them says it all. Win or lose we will be proud of his teams. Given a little time, there will be many of the latter.
Very nice - insightful of his background and foundation. Fired up! Go Marquette!
Nicely done.
Ed Wilson's eyebrows should be a national treasure 2:15 in
Hard not to like his story.
Cracked Sidewalks at 3:15.
Marquette has been lucky enough to have had a number of successful basketball coaches. With the exception of Al and Hank, none have had a strong enough impact to have really left an continuing imprint, a legacy. When you slink off in the middle of the night, or leave taking shots at the school's ability to compete (Buzz) or willingness to compete (O'Neill) you forfeit the chance to have your name forever associated with the program.
I think that Wojo is the kind of coach who will have kind of impact, that will leave a legacy that will have his name associated with the program long after he's gone.

Looks like a lot of the near-suburbs of MKE (https://www.google.com/maps/@39.2738062,-76.671422,3a,75y,169.71h,79.37t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sbKasXrdRLcnRg-CiiroJ4w!2e0)
This was great. Like the hire more every day. Seems about as solid of guy as you can get. Won't be nearly as quotable and humorous as was Buzz - yet think he's going to be much more stable over the years.
That house he grew up in looks exactly like the one I did.
We never really heard Buzzs real story about his parents, where he grew up,it just starts when he cobbled up enough
quan to go to the final 4 and got a job sweeping floors.
I think I remember Wojo's dad from season 2 of The Wire
You will not find out much about his parents, he was adopted.
I need to stop watching or reading anything that makes me love Wojo before he has even coached a game. My expectations are spiraling out of control BUT I CAN'T STOP BECAUSE I'M HAVING FUN.

Wait is this for real?

1. Are you sure about that?
2. It doesn't matter anyway. The people he calls his parents divorced, both remarried, and he spent time with both his father in Van Altstyne and his mother who moved away. I don't think he felt he had the best of childhoods.

That's incredible.

Two guys meet in an Irish pub and begin to talk. One says to the other "I'm from Lettermullen" The second one replies"Saints preserve us! I'm from there too!!!?" I grew up on Kildare street "Jesus, Mary and Joseph! I grew up on Kildare in a house with green shutters" " Holy Mother of God! My house had green shutters!
Guy down the bar looks at the bartender and raises his eyebrows. The bartender comes over and says "The O'Malley brothers are drinkin' again."

Oh My God. Pat O'Malley had a brother?
