Per a signholder in Morgantown on College Game Day:

College GameDay done right.
Nobody holds grudges like West Virginians.
Classic!
I didnt notice the sign when I watched it, but did think about Buzz as Corso started singing a very tone deaf version of Country Roads. Good stuff.
I really thought that sign in front of the Buzz one was going to reference a burning couch. Really disappointed.

Teal? I read it as a clear reference to couch burning
Bahaha. Which one of you was in Morgantown?
Is being the worst person on earth to West Virginians a bad thing or a good thing?
See, this is what happens when cousins marry, aina?
I will miss that about buzz. I was laughing so hard when he looked right at the camera. Maybe wojo will floor slap someone's mid court logo aina?
A little known fact from the Civil War Era is that as a result of its early victories under Robert E. Lee's command, the Confederacy was able to force the United States to take West Virginia.

It is.
Say whatever you want about our old coach but when he danced on the WV court to their tune it was pretty awesome, that was a great road W and some of those fans wanted to throw down on BW....surprisingly a great coherent sign from WV fans

+1 nobody can ever take that one away from Bazz. I will be forever thankful for that.
I just don't get why they would be making that sing today, before a football game against TCU, years after it happened. But to each their own, I won't complain.
That is awesomely funny. I am gonna miss moments like that. BTW, was Chico's in Morgantown?
Or was it Willie?

The thing is, Buzz meant no offense by the whole thing.
Speaking of Buzz, I was going to post this in the Superbar, but I saw this post here. Buzz has a website now. Don't when he finds time to write it. But here it is.

I'll refrain from making any comments.

It's all outsourced to CVASconsulting.com
Man, his head is getting big, spreading the word of Buzz by outsourcing.
I'm pretty sure he had that site while at Marquette too.
Yes, last year was a disaster and it was time to move on but Buzz was instrumental in some of the best times I've had as an MU fan and that is what I'm choosing to remember. Good times!

Yes, but remember the Louisville meltdown and the 2013-14 season long meltdown. Who will ever forget those golden oldies? Thanks for the memories, Bert!

My favorite, he has Scott Monarch write the who is Buzz Williams section. Not very smart.

Some people toss their friends overboard when they make a mistake. Some people don't. You're the "smart" guy who deletes that "friend" from your contacts. Buzz is the dumb guy who doesn't. I know which guy I'd choose as a friend.

That was one of the best buzz williams moments. It was great being a "Villain" for a little bit. We had a little bit of Rebel in us during those Buzz years and I already miss that. I have feeling that if we would have won a National Title with Buzz that a 30 for 30 would be out on us in about 15 years.

You miss the point. You can include Monarch in other ways, but to have a known NCAA violator and liar write that section about a NCAA coach isn't very smart.
No one is talking about him abandoning his friendship. I would hope he does remain friends, that doesn't mean he doesn't have many other friends that could write the same thing and not have the baggage. Not. Very. Smart.

You are right, but the amount of people outside of Marquette fandom who could tell you that Scott Monarch once broke NCAA rules and lied about it, is very small.

Exactly. You can have friends, but you can also keep them in a non-professional level. I'm sure Mike Nifong (the now disbarred DA from the Duke lacrosse scandal) has friends, but I imagine they aren't asking him to endorse their campaigns to get on legal committees.
Does leaving Marquette make you the worst on twitter? Buzz has turned into TC with his twitter feed, just littered with stupid quotes.

Comparing a disgraced and disbarred DA with an assistant coach who didn't tell the truth over a very minor infraction because his inquisitor was an enemy trying to take down his boss is beyond absurd.
Maybe we should focus this thread on when Tom Crean visited Gary Harris's high school and recruited him during a no-contact period in a last ditch desperation move to not lose the best player in the state, again.

Like Sultan said, it's probably someone from his website "ghost-tweeting." My friends have been trolling his twitter recently and "it" has been nice back to them, wishing Marquette luck.
@CoachTomCrean was the best. The ultimate was when the real TC was asked in his post game press conference after a loss about his twitter account reporting Harbaugh to the 49ers.
RIP @CoachTomCrean

Additionally, my guess is Buzz allowing Monarch to write the "forward" is Buzz publicly displaying his continued friendship with a lifelong friend that made a mistake and paid for it. Something, I am sure, completely foreign to chicos. Chicos lives his life like that of a politician, as evidenced everyday by his posts and views. People of character dont have the time or energy to live that way.

For the very same reason, why have him write it at all. Why not have someone write it that has no baggage and actually is recognizable (although after Va Tech's website had a picture of Scott Monarch as their new coach, maybe he's the most recognizable guy in Virginia)? Maybe Billie Gillespie wasn't available to write it. It just isn't very smart and Lenny's attempt to say this is a friendship thing is silly at best.
He should've had Hoopaloop write it.

99.9 percent of the college basketball world doesn't give a flying you-know-what about who wrote the bio on Buzz Williams' website.
The 0.1 percent who do care are ridiculous.
Oh man, I didn't know about these. Beautiful.

I was looking for the 49er's comment.
This #firetomcrean guy has him down pat. The banners, the clapping, the pictures with Wade. Almost makes me wonder if it's a Scooper doing it.
Is it?
Not Tom Crean @CreanyTom ยท Oct 24
What if in Airbud they put that dog in and they didn't win......that coach would feel stupid.
I would bet there's something in TC's Personal Guide to Success about not putting a dog into a basketball game. Probably a different chapter than "tanning = success," but it's got to be in there.

All of you guys are overlooking the possibility that it was Virginia Tech that asked Monarch to "write up something about who [you] Buzz Williams really is" back when they weren't sure what Buzz looked like.
