Looks like the Church is finally waking up to certain givens in contemporary society

Alleluia.
Backtracking. From CNN this afternoon:
In response to such reactions, the Vatican backtracked a bit Tuesday. In a statement, it said the report on gays and lesbians was a "working document," not the final word from Rome.
The Vatican also said that it wanted to welcome gays and lesbians in the church, but not create "the impression of a positive evaluation" of same-sex relationships, or, for that matter, of unmarried couples who live together.

ugh.
Ebb and flow. Tug of war between the progressives and the conservatives, just like everywhere else.

Either way, this is a major step for Rome.
I find it quite hypocritical of the church to deny divorced Catholics communion while they turn a blind eye to the pedophile priest who not only receives communion but consecrates the host as well. If those Cathoiics who remarry after a divorce are considered to be in an invalid marriage can the same be said of a pedophile priest who celebrates mass have that mass also be invalid?
But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be drowned in the depth of the sea. Mt: 18:6

Well said. It's hypocrisy, and it's disgusting. Judge harshly people who love each other and turn a blind eye to those who injure. If the church can get with the times, perhaps it can convince more youths to remain active.
