Yes. The checkerboard look is played out.
Defiantly, so many other schools have the look, high schools it's saturated.

Does Dook have names on the back of the jersey? Not sure if they stitch them on later or just aren't doing names on the back of the jersey, but there were no names on the jersey in this video that MUTV put out today...

With the amount of transfers Buzz would have before the season even started, I'm guessing it's just university policy to hold off on the names as long as possible to save on expenses.

Great idea. And instead of Air Jordans we should switch to Sperry Topsiders. We could have taken to the aircraft carrier deck with a vengeance with those while Ohio would have been slip sliding all over the place.

I believe the reason they were outlawed was the refs said it was too hard to read the uniform numbers with that design.
I just don't want unis that say Golden Eagles instead of Marquette.

I disagree, there's a reason why teams all over the country have copied our uniform.
Jordan is still the premier brand in basketball. Plus now that Jimmy MF Butler is signed up with Jordan (http://blog.champssports.com/jimmy-butler-speaks-on-passion-helping-children-and-best-air-jordans-collection/) that we should stick with the brand.
I'm hesitant to start advocating for a uni change because there's always a chance that we'll end up with a dud. Though looking back through history (http://wiki.muscoop.com/doku.php/the_marquette_jersey_project/start) I would say that we haven't had any duds.

When it originally came out it was in collaboration between Crean/Marquette and Converse. Jordan Brand wasn't even involved yet. It was a spin off of the look from our unis from 71 to 74: http://wiki.muscoop.com/lib/exe/detail.php/the_marquette_jersey_project/7174road.jpg?id=the_marquette_jersey_project%3Astart
There's a reason that everyone copied the look. It's because it was the freshest uni when it came out. It's just getting a little stale now.
I forgot about the converse involvement, at least we agree that it has gotten stale.

It's really too bad that these days you pretty much need to go with a major company. For the most part, it's adidas, Nike, Under Armour, or nothing, and with the advent of AAU all of your recruiting is tied to which brand that is. Al's partnership with local distributors in the 1970s allowed us to have the freedom we did and led to some of the coolest designs CBB ever witnessed. You just can't do that anymore.
Juan Anderson designed the uniforms his high school team used and modeled them on Marquette. I always wished he would have had the chance to design a uniform here. Unfortunately, as the shoe companies have more influence, uniforms have become more, well, uniform. Even when we see new, different uniforms, it's not just one team wearing them, it's the 5-6 flagship schools for the brand.
The only way to stand out is if your biggest booster runs one of the shoe companies (cough, Oregon, cough). Otherwise, it's pretty much just fall in line.
