Unexpectedly busy Tuesday
The pod signal went up, so here we are. Once of sounds like he's calling on a Campbell soup can, but hopefully you'll survive because we have a lot to talk about. It was a hectic Tuesday, with the new AD announced and then the complete schedule rolled out. We are barely qualified to talk about basketball so we certainly aren't qualified to vet an AD hire....doesn't mean we don't try. While not a complete, in-depth analysis of the schedule, we spend a little time talking about our overall impressions. We also decided to put our "optimism" hats (http://rlv.zcache.com/invest_in_optimism_hat-r4cff7f540d7a4b33aac0a4a29c334909_v9wfy_8byvr_324.jpg) on(surprised we could find them) to discuss what things could happen that would result in a positive experience this season. Lastly, we turn to recruiting, welcoming Haanif Cheathnam (http://www.anonymouseagle.com/2014/9/5/6110977/marquette-basketball-recruiting-haanif-cheatham-2015-steve-wojciechowski-wojo), the latest MU player that will have his name misspelled and mispronounced for the next four years, That leads into a general recruiting discussion which includes the 900 pound gorilla in the MU recruiting room. #bringDraketoMadness Download this episode (right click and save) (http://scrambledeggs.podbean.com/mf/web/hanjcq/ScrambledEggs_9-9-14.mp3)

In all seriousness, I do find it interesting that coach Wojo was very involved in the hiring process including interviewing Scholl from what I hear.

All the better for when they leave for Duke together.

Why wouldn't you have one of the key pieces of your team be part of the interview process for your key leadership role? I'd actually be disappointed if Wojo was left out of the process. That be hiring a CEO without having the rest of the chiefs (COO, CIO, CFO, etc) involved at some level. I'm sure Wojo didn't pick the AD, but at least provided input.

We are currently interviewing candidates for my boss (anyone interested?) and I am very involved in the process. I don't have any voting power, but I get to sit down with each candidate and then offer the committee my thoughts. I think it's completely normal.

Pretty common practice, I would think. I have interviewed people who would be above me - but, that I would be working with.
So we already have "Cracked Sidewalks" and "Paint Touches".
Which Scooper is going to start the blog called "Floor Slaps"?
