Poll
Question: What is better, Chipotle or Qdoba?
Option 1: Chipotle
Option 2: Qdoba
Title: Chipotle or Qdoba?

Pretty self explanatory.  Who prefers Chipotle and who prefers Qdoba?

And if your choice is Qdoba, can anybody give a reason that is not, "Chipotle doesn't have queso sauce" (which is nasty)?

Chipotle is better at what they both do..burritos.

Qdoba has a bigger menu, their quesadillas are pretty good.

There was also a time when the Chipotle on on Ogden would give you a free burrito for a canned good.

TT34 and I ate there twice a day for an entire week only paying with a case of Aldi green beans. It was heaven.

I used to love Qdoba, then I read about how everything is prepackaged, and they reuse ingredients far longer than they should (all according to company protocol). Chipotle, meanwhile, cooks nearly everything in-house.

I do miss my chicken queso burrito from time to time though.

Also, at Chipotle, you can order quesadillas. As well as a quesarito - burrito wrapped in a quesadilla.

I'm having a hard time believing that anyone would even seriously ask this question.

Chipotle.  It's not even close.  Not even worth discussing.  I'm actually a little sad and offended that it even came up.  And we have friends who own some Qdoba franchises.

It used to be a preference toss up.  I preferred Qdoba for the longest time.  Chipotle had a spice to their meat I didn't enjoy, bad chips, I liked Qdoba's Pico de Gallo better.  But once Chipotle spun off from McDonalds and then began their "green" campaign and practices, if you will, the gap emerged and widened.  I used to have Qdoba by my old office that I went to and it wasn't the same.  Much smaller portions, clearly not as fresh.  The only issue I have with Qdoba is the fact that $1.95 for guac on a burrito or bowl is highway robbery.

I've said plenty of constructive things in the other thread.  I've been able to factually tell one poster what the actual age of the victim was.  I've been able to factually explain to a poster that injuries were reported almost immediately despite his insistence they weren't.  I've been able to factually provide evidence about what a certain drug can do to SOME people around aggression.  So on and so forth, all kinds of constructive, fact based contributions.

You may think that people chase you around to see what you are commenting on in other threads, but let me put that to rest for you.  When in doubt, you might want to just flip a coin on Chipotle or Qdoba.

At least keep this contained to the other thread.

A person clicks on the "Chipotle or Qdoba" thread just hoping to engage in some light-hearted jokes at the expense of Qdoba, which is so clearly inferior.

Yet you probably drink Miller Lite at the Bradley Center which costs more than a Chipotle burrito, is tasteless garbage, and supports a large corporation.

That spending has put Marc Marotta's ex into sensibly sized living quarters in Mequon. The Director of Sustainability of Miller Brewing understands that she should lead from the front by impeccable example. She refused to build anything larger than 15,000 sf of living space for her family of five. There are only so many resources to go around and Kim Marotta means business when it comes to responsible choices.

Qdoba isn't on the west coast because it is simply smaller.  Really this is like arguing what is better McDonalds or Burger King.  One can have a preference, but let's not act like there is a huge gulf between them.

Typical arrogant Bay Area snob. Last I looked Seattle is on the west coast. Niners suck.

Now, as for Qdoba or Chipotle I would say neither. Seattle has some great taqueria trucks that serve incredible Mexican fare. Also, there is a phenomenal Oaxacan place in Ballard that puts all of it to shame.

Chipotle.

Not only is Qdoba in the west coast (and 46 states in total), their headquarters are in California and they certainly have stores in Cali.

Like Chipotle who was once mostly funded by McDonald's, Qdoba is backed by a burger company... Jack In The Box, which I believe is a verb, purchased Qdoba more than a decade ago.

Both are fine for bland food.

I'm currently eating Wendy's and it's good.

But man.. the queso is so unbelievably awful there.. and it's not queso. So bad - how does it even exist?!?!

I believe $0.17 was the cheapest canned good we could find.

I will give Chipotle the nod in taste and Qdoba the nod in portions and menu variety. I do think, however, Chipotle's quality has gone down a bit in recent years. I'd say a quarter of the time the meat will be disappointing.

We have a similar chain, Pancheros, here in Rockford.  They are unique in that they press the tortilla right there then mix all the ingredients with a spatula before wrapping your burrito.  Not sure I would put them ahead of Chipotle or Qdoba though.

We had a pork loin that we smoked on our grill a few days ago. Last night, with the leftovers, we made smoked pork quesadillas. Added sauteed onions, peppers and cheese, and topped with salsa and a dollop of sour cream.

It took about 15 minutes total to make, and it was infinitely better than anything at a fast-food place. At a sit-down Mexican restaurant, it would have cost $15-20 plus tax and tip, and I can't imagine it would have tasted any better.

We make quesadillas or burritos pretty often with leftover chicken, and they are always excellent. But the smoked pork loin quesadilla was next level.

We like going out to eat, too, but we rarely go to a Mexican place because the stuff we make at home is just so simple and delicious.
