Post by: Niv Berkowitz on August 11, 2014, 11:05:50 PM
Wojo just out with it, saying, "hat sophomore class, the one that didnt gt to play a lot last year, ha a chance to make a jump."

Mike Hunt is busy this week.

First draft of that story singled out Johnson, Wilson, and John Dawkins.

Really glad he mentioned it was our worst in over a decade.  It makes me feel like he appreciates the recent run of success as much as us.  Whether this is true or not I don't care.

FIFY.

Dawkins played at the "Marquette of the East", I believe.

FIFY.

I'm aware that John's surname is Dawson. Mike Hunt apparently wasn't when the story first went up.

I liked Wojo's comments on Luke. Thinks he is going to develop into an all conference player. Makes me a little more optimistic.

Another great line still in the article:

"Mayo's departure also means the Golden Eagles will have just two seniors on the roster, point guard Derrick Wilson and forward Juan Anderson. Wojciechowski said he's been pleased with their leadership."

And I thought that Hunt already had mentioned Carlino in an earlier article.

It isn't a real Mike Hunt article if he gets all his facts straight.

By class standing yes. But he's still new to us. But then again... everything is completely brand new this season.

Nice comment by Coach, he acknowledged the frustration the guys had with playing time.

I have a hard time seeing a team with a healthy Duane Wilson, an engaged Jajuan Johnson, and a year older Deonte Burton who get to team up with Luke Fischer come December not being competitive. If the 4 of them get some minutes and gel, why can't we be competitive this year? As Wojo says, they could make "the jump." If they do, all is not lost and it could be more than a transition year.

That's a TON of talent and Wojo is a winner. I am drowning in the Kool Aid.

Just curious, but the Hunt article said Wojo is moved in. Just curious, but what area of Milwaukee did he move to?

I have it on good authority he and his family have taken residence in a McCormick Hall quad, formerly the study lounge area. Haven't been able to confirm which floor.

This.  I'm in the same boat.  Yeah we really have yet to see Duane, Luke, and Jajuan log meaningful minutes, so really I understand hesitancy, but this team can be real competitive this year.

I'm with you on this. In the college game, you can still win with a lack of size. Provided everyone stays healthy, I think they can surprise some people.

Also, to answer your second question, I believe they're in Mequon.

Where the previous two coaches have lived.

Here I thought this thread was going to be about the self-describings of a Jewish Transsexual.

I know this is a joke but there is no way any self-respecting wife and mother lives in McCormick. The whole building is permeated with that SAGA grease odor (I can still smell it to this day) and those study lounges were like a Roman Vomitorium every weekend morning.

First two sentences of the story

Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski is feeling a little more settled after four months on the job, domestically and professionally.

He recently bought a house and moved his family from Durham to Milwaukee.

Curious ... has anyone checked too see if Brent sold is Mequon Estate?
