ATTN: ALL FORMER MU PLAYERS......
Marquette Basketball is preparing for their 100th anniversary in 2 years. They want every former MU player involved and need their contact lists up to date. Includin' intramural playas? I'm in representin' the Copus Hall Copulators.
Mascots?
Ya I'll tell wade before our nightly jog and poker game.
I was an MU Player. After bars to me were some of the finest moments in my life. You can hate the game, but don't hate the player.
Or are they talking about basketball players? Oh. Never mind. My bad.
I had a killer, one handed, breakaway dunk in the rec center in 1982. I'll be there.
I was in a Strat-O-Matic League in McCormick. I was the Orioles. I too shall be there.

Yikes, some of those ballers from the 20's ain't gonna smell too good.
Are Lloyd Moore and Terry Reason invited?
I have a degree from the College of Comm, does that count?
A lot of former players here on Scoop?

I have several friends who are former players. I'll mention it but am sure they already know.
That's cool----was just wondering if former players really waste their time here discussing Wisconsin linguistics. I had such higher hopes for them as a whole.
So my 3 pointer at the rec over Vander 2 years ago to win the game qualifies me right?
I once ran into Hutch in the Union at Winter Flurry. Next time I bump into him, will advise.
I was a playa while at MU.
Juggled three girls at the same time.
Ron curry drop stepped and dunked on all 5'11" inches of me and Damon key said with his Jabba the Hutt deep voice, "Man! Play some post defense!"
I'm in.
I played on the Club frisbee team. Does that count?
I think my favorite thing about this thread is that we all have had a run in with at least one basketball player while we were at MU. The 3 over Vander was my #1 but having Jamail Jones compliment my shoes is a close second.
Coed flag football champ, B division, 2001, will make sure to check in.
I was supposed to be on the team but I got Buzz-cut.

Maybe someone can borrow the Jesus Mobile for a day and spread the word around Milwaukee. I see that he got a new one recently:

I blocked Odell Ball's shot once. Well, more of a dribble. Not actually during a "game". I'm in.

I have degree in Interpersonal Communication and think that should count as well. Not exactly sure what INCO was but had a lot of fun.

I'm going to go ahead and count that, I'll private message IWB and let him know you're in.
I knew I picked the right "college" when the intro course was CORS 010 and it was pronounced Coors Ten. Though, it probably should have been called Coors Light. Not too heavy.
The best man at my wedding was suppose to room with Krunti Hester freshman year before they realized he was suppose to be in Humphrey. I will be waiting for the invite for this event with baited breath.

Wow. Girls I knew at MU were almost impossible to lift, let alone juggle.

Wow. Sounds like he got the Holy Grail then - a private room in McCormick! No neck ties on the door for him!
Neckties were found strapped to the bedposts, doe.

No quite, he ended up having a different roommate for 1st semester who ended up dropping out then got another roommate who lasted all of 2 weeks in the 2nd semester before he got the room to himself....I probably should have thought it out more before agreeing to room with him for the next 3 years. ;D

I turned down a walk-on opportunity in the early 90s.
I average 22 putts/round.
I yelled at Paul Molitor to get his ass back on defense in a pick-up game at the Rec center.
We heckled Kelly Tripucka mercilessly for his own sick version of 40 Minutes of Hell

Oh yeah!
If Marquette is going to do this properly then the "Give 'em Hell, AL!" guy had better get an invite. Kuykendall better make that happen. Or else.
Keefe
Agreed completely. That would be a nice addition.

I agree. An encore performance of 20 drunks hurling insult and invective at Kelly Tripucka would be an eye-misting stroll down memory lane. I'll never forget how we not only caused Tripucka to look at us while at the line but also got Woolridge to throw daggers at us as well. That was a defining moment in a great rivalry in the long, proud tradition of Marquette hoops.
Oh, wait, are you talking about the "Give 'em Hell, AL" guy?
Keefe
Agreed on both counts. I hated those ND teams and loved the Give 'em Hell, Al guy. All good stuff.

You must of scarred him....the following year when we played them...and beat them in SB, a group of us went strolling down the south quad yelling "hey horseface, hey Tripuka".

I am somewhat ashamed now to admit that equine references played a prominent role in Operation Horse Face. There were also suggestions of resemblance to Bugs Bunny and Goofy. The folly of youth is never well served by the influence of demon rum.

I was at that game. Then we watched the US Olympic hockey team win the gold medal. I couldn't believe they didn't sell alcohol in Indiana on Sundays. Very disappointed.
The Michigan state line was 10 minutes away. And Michigan was 18 then. Shula's in Niles was the place to go. Or Borderline Liquors.
Oh, we figured that out. It seemed like a lot more than 10 minutes.
If you go 85 in your dads car when you are 17, you can do the round trip in about 12 minutes.
