Story today about him
http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/10/elite-academic-showcase-recap-nick-rakocevic-stands-out-from-the-pack/
Davon Dillard starts July in a big way: As the No. 123 prospect in Rivals' 2015 rankings, 6-foot-5 wing Davon Dillard has a chance to play his way into more scholarship offers with a strong July.
At the Elite Academic Showcase on Wednesday, Dillard came out strong and displayed his high-level athleticism to go along with a developing skill set on the wing. Dillard can run a bit wild with the ball in his hands, but he has the athleticism and upside to play at the highest level if he can limit turnovers and make smart decisions.
Dillard told NBCSports.com that Creighton, Marquette, Oregon, Purdue, USC and Xavier have shown the most recent interest and he claims scholarship offers from Creighton, Marquette and Purdue.
Isn't he 2015?
Have been on him for sometime.
CC is watching him today.
Dilliard is reminiscent of the prototypical player you'd expect to see added under the last regime. I have no problems with that. He is NASTY. 6'5" athletic & strong wing. Guard multiple positions? Uh huh. And with the ball he can be just MEAN sometimes. Will hurt feelings out on the court.
From Gary, Ind. I like him.

Not surprising, since Buzz's crew were checking him out in 2013. Expected lean to Purdue right now, but we'll see.
Malik Newman will not be in college three years from now. Talk about a talent. Wow. Jumps off the screen.

What do you think of Dillard? Is he traditional enough? Or does he make you squirm?

Nice catch, Ners. This is a perfect example of hypocrisy and "delicious irony". This kid has had his share of problems, but he's a player. Crean, Buzz or Wojo - if they're going after a player and they think it's a good risk/reward I'm all in. Chico's all in if it's Crean or Wojo, squirmy when it was Buzz.

Without question another example of the hypocrisy. I'd have more respect for Chicos if he simply would own up to the fact he loved Crean, hated Buzz....end of story...but nope...it's all kinds of machinations trying to disprove the obvious, when it is so blatantly obvious.
You guys are truly ridiculous and adolescent. Get over yourselves! You must feel better about yourselves to criticize others. You have made your point a thousand times over. Grow up!

Think you need to re-direct your point to the person responsible for all the nonsense...Chicos. Sadly, I'd put him on ignore, but there are good posts he makes with good information - generally about the landscape of sports economics/TV influence and how it impacts college athletics etc.

I also hear Chicos was the cause of the polar vortex.

Well, if you're not part of the solution...
Dillard has been suspended i believe on multiple occasions. So Chicos transparency (shocking I know) is predictable.
With that said, be it KO, Crean, or anyone else I will defer to the coaching staff. I know how high school kids can can be, impulsive and dumb are two prominent traits that come to mind. A lot of good and smart teenagers get into dumb situations. I trust the coaching staff to sort out the good eggs from the bad. Additionally, I think our previous staffs have done a good job in this area and firmly belive the current one will as well.
Looks like Providence offered Dillard.

Here is some detail on why Dillard was suspended. The MU application asks prospective students if they have been suspended. So I wonder if this caused Buzz to back off.

Gotta read the tweets bro.
His team played Canarias bball academy... School in Spain with big, international kids. Like size big. Dillard was guarding much bigger guys, no problem.
No MU at that one. Phelps was watching Kerwin Roach a couple of hours ago. I'm heading over to see Matt play again at 9:20 PT

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but Dillard picked Cal today.

Honestly don't think he was seriously pursued by this staff. Buzz was definitely on him.

Wojo was on him much harder than Buzz was.
Staff seemed to pursue Dillard until Cheatham committed. Haven't seen a serious mention of us with him since.
