Better than him saying another school!

Diamond Stone, center, Whitefish Bay (Wis.) Dominican HS
Stone checks in as the sixth-best prospect in the class. The 6-foot-10, 260-pound Stone is a five-star recruit who led Dominican to a Division 4 state title last winter.
Offer list: Arizona, Connecticut, DePaul, Georgetown, Illinois, Indiana, Marquette, Maryland, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA and Wisconsin.
Way-too-early Stone prediction: Marquette. Staying close to home and becoming the man for new coach Steve Wojciechowski is too much for Stone to pass up.
Interesting. No idea where his guess comes from.

but i do like his thinking
But, how would Wojo manage the minutes? Would he run a 4 Big Attack with Stone, Ellenson, Fischer, Taylor, Levin & Heldt in the rotation? Too many BIGS!
Okay, how much is Scoop paying him?

Good question...but if Diamond and Ellenson both come...pretty sure Diamond at minimum would be on the floor a lot as a freshman..perhaps Henry too. Heldt would be ideal redshirt candidate. Steve might see some minutes at the 3. Levin and Fischer would be fighting it out. Then again is somehow Levin is able to outplay Ellenson in practice...maybe he gets the nod over him for 1 year? Interesting to ponder...who would have ever thought TOO many bigs at MU?!

Really makes one dream of a Du Wilson, JJJ, Bane, Ellenson, Stone starting 5 with Fischer, Dawson and STJ coming off the bench. Theres a case for a national championship with those guys on the floor.
Why would anyone give any credence to some random Illini reporter's pick? He doesn't even mention Stone's offers from Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, or Kansas.
Why are you talking sense?????
We are now talking National Championship--see above.

Just go with it. It's not like he has any reason to be biased toward MU in making his prediction.

He has no bias toward MU. Would you rather he predicted Duke?
Weren't the rumors we were the favorite for Stone prior to Buzz leaving?
If that's the case, I like our chances, Wojo's done very well recruiting our state so far, and it didn't take long for Cohen and Noskowiak to re-commit.
Add in the hometown advantage and his friendship w/ Dua. Wilson, Wojo's success coaching the Duke bigs, a lot of reason to believe Stone will end up at MU.

Well, it is clear where you stand as a fan of our beloved Warriors. Good day to you.
Glad to see this. I like our chances to land him.

I obviously want Stone to end up at MU. I just don't allow some random blogger get my hopes up regarding the likelihood of that occurring. It doesn't appear that this guy has any inside info and my feel for the general consensus on Stone recently was that the ship had sailed. Don't see why this changes that.
Stone may in fact have MU near or at the top of his list, but I highly doubt this guy has any insight into that.
Keefe
You are my source!
As far as I've heard from Stone's cousin, he wants to head out of state.
That being said, who knows what a teenager will decide in the end. Much less the teenager himself.
OK ... I guess it's my turn ...
Done deal!
My money is on the Big East nabbing him.
Georgetown.
Stone vs. Ellenson twice a year would be a lot of fun and great for our conference.

Stone and Ellenson on the same court playing for the same Warriors team would be more fun and would be even greater for our conference because it would give everybody a team to gun for!
Coach Wojciechowski and Coach Krzyzewski will both work Diamond hard. Each coach will have nothing but glowing things to say about the other. Diamond will select Duke. I'll be OK with that.
Good Lord willing, it will happen again soon with the next top local prospect and it will go our way.
How about an all WI. team of Stone, Ellenson, Wilson, Cohen and Nick as a starting lineup? Fisher, Heldt first off the bench or go with 3 bigs starting?
Alas...wistful thinking until Stone commits

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
Germans?
Forget it, he's rolling!
Since WW isn't here to say it, I will.
Respect the Process.

I would love it if when they are recruiting head to head (especially for instate kids) if coach K basically said...here are all the reasons why you should be at Duke...now if staying in state is a top priority then you should go to MU.
Don't think it would necessarily go down that way but like the wishful thinking.

Why wouldn't Coach K say that after we've won a national championship with Stone and Ellenson both starting as freshmen?
Wishful thinking is always nice, it's the hangover that's the bitch.
For me, I'm very well satisfied that MU appears to have very solid chances to finish off the 2015 recruiting class with Ellenson and Cheatham. Just over three months ago, MU was nowhere with either.

Why is it a given that Duke or Kentucky will land Stone? After all, El Bozo is gone.

Its obviously not a given, but just looking at the math on where 5* kids end up, the deck appears to be highly stacked in their favor; especially with a new coach.

El Bozo had it good with Diamond. Getting Diamond's Dad to sign off was a different story. From what I've heard, UK is the longest shot.
