The nice thing about this one is he got a feel for Marquette, playing in the BC this year. He is also from Chicago so we may have a decent chance here. I like that Wojo is looking at guys who can shoot the ball.
6'8" with 16 points on 9 shots against Marquette, 10 points/9 boards against Indiana. On the downside, he'd be joining this year's sophomore class which would re-unbalance the classes, but I don't know if anyone inside the program worries too much about that.
Never stop recruitin', hey?

Recruiting now is a full time job, just knowing the transfer situation is out of hand. I wonder how the budgets of these programs must be going up drastically just to handle the fall and
spring recruiting periods. How many kids can officially go to a campus, unofficial I am sure it does not matter, per year? 600 kids going elsewhere, lots of coaches promising playing time that does not happen. Wojo did a great job keeping the 9 kids here, even Bo did not have a transfer.
Do I want a 6"8 kid who averaged almost a double double both years he's played the game, even if he's from a low major like Samford?
The answer is yes.
17.6 and 7.3 for a low D1 team is a heckuva lot better than any H.S. kid with 20/10.
Get him.
Plus 6'8" is not bad.
Can never have too many switchables.
If we land him, does it ruin Sultan of Silly's team photo perceptions?
Has MU been mentioned with him at all?
Williams is visiting Wisconsin this weekend per Badger Nation thread

"In late May, he decided to leave the Bulldogs. Since then, Dayton and Marquette have both expressed interest in Williams, in addition to the Lobos and Commodores."

Yes, in all the articles above
Wonder if Williams was more of an option before the Levin commitment. Don't see this one happening.

The transfers that have a proven record as a collegian are a good return on investment. They have been through all the transition from high school both academically and athletically . So all the coaches have to do is focus on teaching them their system and they become plug and play.
I think these transfers understand this and are taking advantage and marking themselves up to a high major.
This report outlines Williams thought process according to his Mother. The story says he has it narrowed down to Iowa, Dayton and New Mexico.

Mention is literally all the three links indicated about MU, nothing concrete or specific at all about MU's involvement.

Hope he does well out there, would have been a nice pick up. It is interesting that coming out of High school he picked Samford over Virginia Tech. Yet it did not seem like they were in the mix on the transfer discussion.

It's the coach.

Never a problem in the past
Looks like New Mexico is now one over their scholarship limit.
