Title: Holsopple - Strength Coach - Vitale & Sidekick Friday night
Post by: Knight Commission on November 22, 2006, 02:24:03 PM
The whole interchange between Vitale (and his sidekick--can never remember his name) about Holsopple seemed odd during Friday's game? One, it seemed odd that Vitale brought up the topic (about a former strength coach) and two his sidekick's reaction appeared to have some significance.  Vitale broke up in laughter after apparently his sidekick looked at him when the topic was brought up.   Vitale's only comment was that he did a good job for Marquette.  Why would Vitale bring this up about a former strength coach--and not for example a former assistant? It seemed like there was more to the story.  Did anyone else have the same reaction?

He brought it up after they discussed the Kentucky-DePaul score/game, so it wasn't too out of place.  I thought the laughing was because they had just been talking (and laughing) about how much time they spent going over the correct pronunciation of names.  I figured Crean had mentioned how they lost their S&C coach over the offseason during their meetings.  Vitale wrote it down, and sort of stumbled over the name.  I guess I never thought of there being more to the story.

This strengthens my theory that Dick V no longer exist. Only his sound bites...any old MU clips get pieced together and interjected when appropriate.
