Auburn, Memphis, Purdue & Marquette are in the early running for Georgia Tech transfer Robert Carter, a source says.
The recruit scoop
I have no idea if reliable.
Big dude. Highly rated out of high school.
ZagsBlog.com reports Carter will be visiting St. Johns in near future...
Good stats, too bad he'll have to sit out next season.

Ben Lammers must have run him off. ;)
Done deal?
Carter Jr would be a fantastic get. Was a double double machine in the ACC. Has range to the three point line as well.

No conditions on his transfer if he chooses Marquette. He can play immediately.

? Unless you know something nobody else does, he'd have to sit out a year. GT didn't put any restrictions on him transferring to Marquette, but he's a sophomore and by NCAA rules would have to sit out one year before being eligible to play. Unless he gets some sort of waiver, but I haven't seen anything that would suggest he may be eligible for one.
Elite defensive rebounder.
A year off for him wouldn't be a bad thing - could attempt to transform physically.
Adding him would be a COUP.
MU to FF '16.

If he somehow gets a hardship waiver, he will be one of the last to do so. This the last year that hardship waivers will be available. The NCAA voted in late April to eliminate them, effective 2015-16. Transferring players will be given a sixth year to complete their 4 years of eligibility if needed.
Any updates?
he was scheduled to visit St. John's on Tuesday.
I haven't seen any other visits mentioned.
any word on why he is transferring? besides the weather and the girls
