Title: Jersey Numbers
Post by: ChitownSpaceForRent on May 11, 2014, 12:26:49 AM
Random and kinda pointless but it is the offseason. Per twitter Jajuan will be wearing 23 next year and is very happy about it.

What do you mean irrelevant? He was second on the team in minutes played, so he must have been great!

How do you convince the citizens of three counties to pony up for a new arena?  Bring Jake Thomas for a workout...

I was about the biggest Jake fan there is but even I find the concept of him trying out for an NBA team mind blowing. That Marquette brand must really be something.

Didn't the Bucks workout Cadougan last year? I think it's more of a favor than anything else.

A workout means nothing.

Ben Brust worked out for the Bucks too. Last year, they worked out Junior Cadougan and Mike Brussewitz. It's a favor.

I don't think it is a favor. A favor implies the team gets nothing for it but they bring in a lot of guys to see how good they are and many times they need some players to fill complementary position. It is hard to see how a player plays one on none so you bring in a few local players to pass him the ball to play matador defense, etc.

I get bringing in local guys with enough talent to provide enough of a test for the guys who you really want to look at.

But the guys in the workout with Brust and Thomas were Oregon/UNLV's Mike Moser & North Dakota State's Taylor Braun.

Cadougan was actually invited to camp but couldn't due to visa issues....or something like that.

Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York.

This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost.

The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.

The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.
