Title: Our Big East Brethren
Post by: SoCalwarrior on November 22, 2006, 02:12:19 PM
OK loses for the conference:

Kentucky
Maryland
Texas
Xavier
Butler

Bad Loses

Butler
Kansas St. (or not)
Jackson State
Old Dominion
Fairleigh Dickinson
Brown
Northwestern
Wofford

How does Cinci lose to Wofford?  AT HOME?  How far they've fallen.

and how friggin bad is Rutgers this season......wow.  they went from almost having Lance Thomas and Quincy Douby on the same roster --- to losing at home to Jackson State.  ouch

Pretty much agreed with your list, but I don't know that I'd necessarily call Butler or Kansas State bad losses (though Huggy's team did get beaten up pretty good by New Mexico last night). ODU is borderline, but given that Georgetown was playing at home in their on-campus gym, yeah I'd have to classify it as a bad loss.

Thankfully we were able to keep Idaho State off that list!

Cincy falling to Wofford is a shame.

But realistically, when you have a team that is struggling, lacking talent and direction, and playing the year as if they were slighted by the university, the only thing they have going for them is pride. Which doesn't only win games.

Hey...losing to Winthrop was tough last year, but they were tourney tested. Wofford might be a more senior, experienced team.

DePaul is off to a poor start, which is disappointing. Their schedule doesn't get much easier.

I will say, however, that there new uniforms are outstanding! They look like the borrowed from past uniforms. I wish Marquette would do that.

I would take Butler out of the "bad loss" category.  In addition to beating ND, they also beat Indiana and tonight Tennessee.  That one no longer falls in the bad category.

UT had a game similar in some respects to ours against Idaho State. Nothing was falling, easy shots were rushed and missed, FT problems, etc. They'll get better. But Butler is a solid team and it's not shameful to lose to them, especially at this point in the season.

Big BE win by Providence over ex-BE member, BU!!!

Nice!!!

And that UNC spanking comes after the UNCers posting those hate messages about Duke being overrated! Classic!

Now with #2 dropping, MU's sure to rise!!!

just to clarify 77's post, providence beat boston college tonight.  it seems to me BC is going to miss craig smith more than people thought.  on the other side, providence is still playing without randall hanke, who was a pretty dominant big man for them last year.  our opener @ providnece is going to be no cake-walk...
