Matt is short for Matthew.

Wojo did tweet he loved Wesley Matthews game and wanted his team to play like him.

Connection?

The Mattquette Warriors.

I thought Wojo was from Maryland, not Boston. Would this give Marquette a closer connection with alums from Boston?

Wojo is from Maryland(DC area), not boston but hopefully he can recruit on the east coast. We saw buzz get recruits from Texas and the south(jimmy b, otule, devante, jjj, Ahmed hill). But the east coast is a hotbed for recruiting especially the DMV(DC,Maryland, Virginia). This area is dominated by gtown and Maryland but maybe WOJO could get in the mix. Boston is also a very underrated area for bball prospects. Here's a list if some boston area guys over the last few years
Wayne Selden- Kansas
Nadir tharpe- Kansas
Nerlens Noel - Kentucky
Nate Lubick -gtown
Shabazz- uconn
Georges Niang- Iowa st
Pat connaughton- notre dame
Jake layman- Maryland

It would be great if WOJO could establish marquette more in east coast recruiting to reel in some if these guys

As long as we don't end up as door-Matts, it's all good!

I think there is enough very good talent in Wisky and Chicago area to draw from. If we can get good/great talent from Chitown we will be in fine shape.
