5. Marquette - This could be the best Golden Eagles team since they made the Final Four in 2002-03. Coach Tom Crean returns all five starters, including a veteran backcourt of point guard Dominic James and shooting guard Jerel McNeal. The team concept will rule more than star power, and it could carry Marquette to great heights.
Wow even I think that may be too high.... hopefully not though
#5? That's just too high.
Poll added.
yeah that is high.....and its funny to see Blaudschun talk about how this is the best MU team since the 2003 squad.
in that tournament, Blaudschun picked Holy Cross to beat MU in the first round.
;)
Yeah, #5 is too high obviously. If we had a legit post-up game with a Robert Jackson type talent it wouldn't be too high though IMO. Unfortunately, we don't have one of those though. That hinders our ability to have a balanced attack. I believe were in that 20-25 range right now, and have a chance to finish in that 10-20 range if we play to our potential this season.
In the preseason, rankings are predicated on the number of legitimate starters returning from the season before. Since our big 3 are all returning + Barro are returning, I think MU is getting the benefit of the doubt right now. Hopefully, we'll earn this high ranking this season, but its hard to see based on how the season ended last year + Mbakwe's injury.
While it's great to see the boys ranked that high in any poll...at any time....it's hard to take this guy seriously since he doesn't seem to recall Georgetown being in the Final Four last year...hmmm...
7. Georgetown - Senior center Roy Hibbert leads a veteran group that is intent on returning the Hoyas to the Final Four for the first time since 1985, when they were led by a center named Patrick Ewing and coached by John Thompson. This year's team features Patrick Ewing Jr. and is coached by John Thompson III.

WOW. That is BAD. Can't believe an editor didn't catch that.
All I can say is wow.
Maybe if A-Rod joins the Red Sox he can lead them to their first World Title in 90 years.
5th? Thanks, but it is time for your urine test.
