And we wonder why UWM thinks of us the way they do!!!
Check out this 'trash' in the MU Tribune...disgraceful to alumni everywhere (at least I hope).

How is it trash?
They interviewed some UWM students and put their opinions up. Big deal.
Really....you don't get it?
She interviewed 6 freshman to take shot after shot after shot at UWM....
Seriously...you don't get it?
Nevermind...
I agree, this is a really poor article. Taking the opinions of three freshmen that have only been there for 3 months isn't exactly adequate research by any stretch of the imagination. It's articles like this that make us Marquette students look like jerks. Do your research before you write articles about other schools...
"Katie Woelfel, also a freshman at UWM,...said Woelfel, a Racine native"
Is this the daughter of a sports writer we all know and love?
This is a Woelfel (of all sorts) free zone. You have been so advised.
It is a bad article. But it is not trash. Trash is usually made up things such as tabloids. Was this bad journalism and could of she gotten a wider sample? Sure, but I do not think it is trash and it really is not an embarrassment to me. Now if I was in the Comm. school maybe, but since I am out of the Business School - not so much.
This is some sort of feature the Trib has been doing. It's really a bad idea, it's really poorly written, and it is borderline trashy.
For some reason the Trib has been comparing MU to every school. Last week they had a story on who had the better Halloween parties Madison or MU. Was that even necessary, and general potshots were taken at UW.
The Trib truly has become a very poor publication in my eyes this year. Whether it's their lead columnist calling Marquette students stuck up, lazy, fat, and worthless, their new feature "Tribune Tributes" where students can e-mail in their shout outs to their friends, rip Illinois students, say which bar is better than another, general Cubs hate, the Trib has really traveled down the tubes.
Yikes.
That's a far cry from last year's comparative piece about Madison, where a couple Trib writers sat in on classes and such there for a few days, and a Daily Cardinal writer came to MU. Both sides offered a fair assessment of the other school and made sure to refute some of the stereotypes.
This, on the other hand, is very poorly written and researched. I heard that there was something scathing written about MU in the UWM Post somewhat recently, but there's no reason to perpetuate that sort of talk.
It's really disappointing to see something like this in the Trib. As a UWM student it upsets me that this unnecessary trash was published. The tribune used to be a rather respectable student newspaper from what I hear. It's just a bummer to see stuff like this because it's completely unnecessary. I understand the athletic "rivalries" being a same-city situation, but what's the point of this article? To get the opinion of a bunch of freshman who have been around for mere months is completely irrelevant information. I have friends who go to MU and for the most part there are a lot of really great people who attend(ed) your university. It's really a shame for UWM students to see something like this because this is what gives us the perception that Marquette students and alumni are stuck-up a**holes. What really stinks for this "journalist" is that this article will in no way help her in the future. If a prospective employer one day reads this they'll laugh at it. There's no way anyone would hire somebody knowing how little effort they put into their writing. With that said...I hate Marquette and their basketball team and you're all stuck up a-holes! ;D
Tribune article is accurate, but does a bear sh_ _ in the woods? Not necessary.
Tribby's not happy with this article.

Either author Sarah Milnar wrote the article after attending a keg party, or she should ask for a refund of her Marquette tuition as she clearly didn't learn how to write a newspaper article in her journalism classes.
