This guy has been pretty consistent for several months that he is close to the Hill camp. Hopefully, this is as wrong as Shaka to MU.
Awfully big step down for Hill. That's no way to the league.
I hope it's not true. He would have been an all time great at Marquette.
#done deal?
His mistake if he follows. I couldnt blame him if he went elsewhere but if he follows Buzz? Thats just not smart. Especially after everything that the players have said the past week you would thing that would be a major red flag for any Buzz recruit.

That might be a little extreme, mixed with sour grapes and immediate venom. While no Brett apologist it isn't as though he has alienated himself with everyone who has come through the program.
I don't fault kids at all for asking out of their NLIs after a coach leaves.

Best of luck to him. These changes have huge impacts on young kids. Must be tough to deal with and makes for difficult decisions obviously

Undoubtedly not the spin Buzzard will feed Hill.
Seems odd then that Hill would have MU all over his Twitter account. Not buying he's made a decision yet.
And the quote... "this is isn't confirmed, and I haven't heard if he has even spoken with Wojo, but it's a strong hunch/educated guess after talking to bball folks I know in the Augusta area".
Sounds like another #donedeal to me
I'd be surprised if Hill follows buzz. I don't like MU's chances of keeping him either. I think hill sneaks on to a blue bloods roster next year.
If he goes, he goes. Who cares? Just the business that is college BBall.
Looks like Mizzou to me, Brent won him here, but now they have 2 shooting guards leaving. I think our 2014 class is
mostly bust, but if everybody else stays, that's really a great start.
Why would anyone want to play much closer to home, in a top conference and for a coach that helped get Jimmy Butler and Jae Crowder into the NBA. It makes no sense.

Do you have Equalizer on ignore? Jae and JFB were destined to the NBA before they even heard of Buzz Williams. In fact, Buzz is probably the reason that they aren't NBA all-stars.

Because when you playing on a team that will be 10-23 next year, you will be double teamed and shutdown. The only time a scout will watch you play is at an away game. So, good luck getting noticed when your double teamed and your team is down by 18 in the second half at Cameron Indoor. By that point the scouts have left for the evening after they have seen enough of Jabari (who you could not stop).
Can't expect Wojo to instantly establish relationships with these recruits. Just not realistic. If Hill and/or Cohen leave...somehow I think MU will survive.
Certainly not the end of the world.

Then JJJ is transferring to Va. Tech, to be closer to home, play in a top conference and the chance to get to the NBA. ;)
Seriously it's hard to get to Blacksburg. After going there once scouts hate it in the winter and never go back......that's why they have had only 9 NBA'ers in their history........compared to 100's of NFL' ers? Easier to get there on a SAT afternoon in the fall with the leaves. Not the winter. It sucks. Pain in the ass. Ask Marcus Vick who would have been an NFL'er.
Academics are nice if you are trying to get from China, or an immigrant desperate to get into the US. Everyone knows this in the US. Even BUzzz who was grasping at straws and applied for VA Tech after being passed over for the Auburn ball job (they chose pearl over buzz?......hint hint hint .). Buzz desperately wanted Auburn... Widely reported.
We all know Buzz is a college ball whore. Texas, Wisconsin, Colorado! Virginia?, Louisiana? He goes where is best for him, not his family. Narcissist.
Virginians who can't get into UVA for academic reasons, and non American citizens hoping to get an American experience before they return to their homeland are the only ones excited to be there. Basketball is irrelevant there.... No one cares. .. And the ones who go there will suffer.

SCOUTING REPORT ON AHMED HILL
by Eric Bossi - 09/25/2013
A scorer from Georgia, his ranking took a dip after a bit of an off summer. He is a two guard with pretty good size, pretty good athleticism and the ability to knock down shots. A bit passive at times and will rise back to form as he learns to put more pressure on defenders with the dribble.

I agree 100% and this doesn't seem to be the general sentiment on the board. I'd say the program has done OK since Tyshawn Taylor was let out of his LOI after Crean left. To me this is the same thing. Hill's probably going to be a very good college player, but if he goes, fine. There's no reason why his scholarship can't and won't be filled by another very good player. I have complete faith in Wojo to fill the roster w/ talented kids. I'm not losing any sleep over ONE guy going somewhere else. It's not like this is a top 5-10 recruit. Who knows how good he'll be. Lots of top 100's have flopped all over college ball, including some recent recruits of our own (Erik Williams, Jamail Jones immediately come to mind).

Wojo has cooled on him.
If he follows Buzz, Hill should look forward to highlighting his skills in 10-12 mpg on a terrible team as a freshman.
Dude might play the 5 at VT
It would not surprise me. However, I would turn Buzz in for recruiting violation, if he has been talking to Hill after he left MU and before MU has released Hill. Also, if I was MU I would release him for every school except Big East and Virginia Tech.

I suspect that at VT he will get more minutes and Buzz will ensure that for following him there. If he does go, another example of Buzz the Charlatan. OK, now comes the defenders with "This is very common when coaches change jobs" Let's see if Wojo brings any of his Duke recruits with him. Doubt it. Just Buzz being Buzz--a total douche.

I understand he likes Buzz. However, Buzz spent a lot of MU recruiting dollars recruiting Hill. Basically, I see it as work product and generally you cannot take work product with you. Assuming you are right about NLI, I personaly would tell Hill we will release him, if he is not going to Virginia Tech. Yes, I am a bad ass. Good analysis about the work content. Hate to see the kid not come, but I guess, what purpose would it serve to restrict him from VT? And would that even be enforceable if he went anyhow?

Don't know what that has to do with anything. Buzz (and any other coach) spends lots of money on many, many guys who never will play for MU. I don't see any connection to it being a work product - Marquette has no patent on Hill just because they recruited him. And, why should Hill be punished in any way with restrictions - he didn't force MU to spend even one penny on him. It was Marquette's choice totally.

But nobody put a gun to his head and forced him to make a commitment to Marquette. The school could have used that scholarship for another person.
I don't advocate forcing the kid to play at any school but it is silly to say the kids are blameless in this. If you give your word you should be expected to live by it. Nobody is forcing him to attend MU - he can attend any school he wishes. But without Marquette releasing him he cannot accept an athletic scholarship elsewhere.
Before anyone signs a contract think through every possible eventuality, including the head coach not being there for your four years of eligibility. Whatever happened to personal responsibility?
