I just listened to Wojo on the SVP and Russillo radio show on ESPN radio.com, and there was almost no mention of MU. It was about Coach K, Jabari leaving, and who he thinks will take over for coach K when he retires. I hate the World Wide leader.
The interview Wojo did with Gotlieb was similar. I'd like to hear questions like what do foresee as your offensive style, Buzz was big on "switchables" aka versatility do you see recruiting more traditional players for the 5 spots on the floor etc? Do you already have your staff lined up essentially or are you still assembling the staff? Is there a lot of consideration for the region you're in as you assemble the staff to blanket key areas in recruiting? These are questions I'd like to hear asked and then maybe they can spend a minute on Duke if they want.
I am pleased that he is doing a media blitz. It can only help. But the hosts are asking the same questions and he is giving boilerplate answers. Re-redundant again. Then again, probably the only ones who are noticing are the hardest of the hardcore MU fans.

It gets his name out... I doubt anyone is going to do the interview that MU fans want anytime soon.
yeah, I for one am waiting for his sit-down 1 on 1 interview with Mike Hunt

Pardon my French, but Gotlieb is a grade A douche. Nothing trailblazing, but I feel compelled to repeat that phrase everytime I hear his name.

Was it national? If so, that's the questions you will get. No one cares nationally about the offense we will run, etc. is what it is for that kind of interview
I completely agree that these national interviews are just part of a PR blitz, but that is what makes the Homer interview, and the other local interviews doubly frustrating. The local media, in particular the flagship station for the team could ask a few specific questions.
I don't hate the Homer/Thunder pairing (now ducking to avoid any incoming debris), but their interview yesterday was them at their worst (i.e. trying to be clever and different, but settling for unprepared and juvenile).

Not necessarily. I do expect some Duke questions, but you could have asked some about the new job; What drew you to Marquette? How long have you felt that you could be a head coach?
Other than SVP introducing him and asking about the floor slapping, there was no way to tell that he is MU's new coach. The interview was conducted like he is still an assistant at Duke.
Point of order : it is RAW beef and onions on rye. Let's not scare this Polish brother away before he even gets here.

I wonder at what point he transcends his Duke image. I'm thinking it's going to take awhile. ESPN sees him as a Dukie... ESPN influences little boys....

Raw beef would be the "true" Catholic way, supported by all popes preceding Pope Frederick.
Wojo did a nice job of steering the conversation back to MU.
Same questions over and over. These media guys must have a list of five questions they pass around amongst themselves.

Exactly. It's ESPN - not a local radio show. Nobody is listening to SVP to hear about what offense Wojo will run. Duke has national significance, as does Parker's decision.
Just wish we had people in Milwaukee who knew what questions to ask. But Wojo hasn't seen these guys in practice yet, so what can he say specifically anyways just yet?

be careful. Heisenberg will be offended if you suggest that Woj should be asked any insightful questions like the ones you suggest.
