Thun-douche? Yeah, he must really be mad at something because he seems to yell a lot. VOICE IMMODULATION IS REAL, TINA!

Madison grad. Despite what he says otherwise he's also Madison apologist. Also from Boston so really doesn't get in-state rivalry.

Absolutely an horrible interview. No ?'s about the current players, recruits, style of play. Last ? was about Lebron. They told WOJO his intro yesterday was a B+. Stupid 1st ever Milwaukee interview by 2 morons. A disgrace.

Nothing very groundbreaking.
Asked him about his family and about him getting a little choked up at the presser.
Asked him if he contacted MU or they contacted him - he said it was mutual.
Asked him about other assistants who have left and he said he thought others did a good job after leaving and shouldn't be measured against Coach K.
Asked him a few weird questions like if people ever call him by his first name.

Nothing to see here folks.
Those guys sounded like the a nicer version of the radio guys from Parks and Rec.

Thunder is awful.

Homer as a talk show host is ok, but not great.

I love Homer as our play by play guy, and hope he does that forever, but Homer & Thunder is perhaps the worst sports talk show on the air (Homer if you read this, its mostly Thunder bringing you down. Get another partner and maybe I'll be on board!).

Was a short interview and he said all the right things. Homer gave him 30 seconds at the end to tell a LeBron James story. Homer would have done better to have him tell a D. Wade story. He repeated stuff that he said in the presser.
Family is very special to him. Has two young sons.
Not going to Final 4. He has too much work to do at MU.
Wants to make the transition for current players go well because he knows that is tough on kids.
Loves that MU is a basketball school and was very impressed with the Leadership and people he met while here
He will be very firery once the games begin--he is competitive
Feels that Duke Assistants that left have done good job as HC. Measuring stick opf Duke program is tough to compare to.

Given the competition from greats such as the Big Unit the title of "worst" is hotly contested, but "Thunder" gets my vote as well.  I can't even stand the voice.  Not enough room to discuss content or style deficiencies.

This seems noteworthy.

The Final Four is an orgy of coaches looking for new positions. Perhaps Wojo has his three in mind and they're out recruiting without institution limitations for an announcement later in the month.

What is most disappointing in ESPN 540--"The Home of Marquette Basketball" didnt even carry Wojo's presser yesterday.  But you know who did?  The goofs over at am 1250 WSSP AND am 920 THE BIG 920 which is all Badgers all the time!

And then they did such a terrible interview to boot.  Sorry about that Wojo.

No, Drew will be too busy talking about Dan Needles passing gas.

Or talking to Jason Wilde about how great a defensive coach Dom Capers is.

Homer used to be OK during his WISN days and with Pat Sheridan, but now...ugh.

I'm really sick of 540.  I'm embarrassed that they are the flagship station.  I think Homers best days are behind him.  He used to be insightful.  Something happened when he got kicked out of 1130.  Ever since then he seems to go out of his way to ask stupid off topic questions.  I stopped listening to them during the coach search because all they wanted to talk about was who should be sent down to the minors for the Brewers.  They go out of their way to avoid talking about MU news.  When Wojo was announced they spent most of the 5 minutes they devoted to the topic making fun of Wojo's name before returning to a bunch of yelling about if Rodgers trains hard enough in the off season.
Lets get a petition together to remove the play by play from 540.

540 is the flagship because they pay more money than anyone was willing to pay.

So, unless that petition is your checkbook allowing us to send your money to MU to make up the difference between 540 and who you deem not embarrassing, this is going no where.

Yes. You are correct about buying the rights to MU BB. A petition will go nowhere.

But let me ask who in the MU Athletic Dept is accountable for 540's handling of the MU property? They do a piss poor job and do no favors for their flagship property - I don't care about how much they pay.

Someone in the MU Athletic Dept should be calling them and telling them to do a better job. As someone above stated, the only sports radio station in Milwaukee that did not do a live feed from the new coach press conference?!!! The MU Athletic Department is what/who we should be complaining about - they could do something if they weren't sitting in some kind of cozy, no accountability relationship apparently. They ought to be raising hell with 540 about their poor handling of the MU property. 540's direct report at MU could make something happen. The new AD will hopefully take a long hard look at how the MU property has been handled.

I was going to say that all of the "vision" in the AD has been exerted in finding a new coach.  They'll hire a new AD and hopefully he will be detail oriented enough to tend to an issue, such as this.  540's coverage has been abysmal, deciding to expend their resources on an Aaron Rodgers vs. Colin Cowherd debate the same day MU's new coach was hired.  Obviously, the Packers are a cash cow, but to give 5 minutes of coverage that resulted in making fun of Wojo's last name is absurd.  Who knows, maybe something changed with Homer after the accident and he's more carefree now.

Homers show is also broadcast in Madison and I know they received complaints on being a shill for mu. Maybe homer over compensates because of that.

His show is really hard to listen to. Thunder just yells and argues with homer. Not good radio. Talking about cowherds comments about Rodgers and not about the new mu coach yesterday is inexcusable as is not carrying the press conference

This 540 decision was made a lot longer ago, and lack of support allowed to go for a long time. Enough of the status quo handling by the AD. The coach search is a bad excuse for a much longer term radio sponsorship mishandling.

Well, if you're not currently employed on a NCAA institution, contact periods and limitations don't apply to you, so you can recruit all you want...until you get a job.  Most famous example I can remember of this is Bobby Knight the year before he started at Texas Tech.  He spent the whole year recruiting, and walked into the job with a full roster of players coming with him.

I think you are right about this. Of course, it is an ESPN property, so there is probably some heat to not devote too much to MU, which I think is dumb, if they are doing it. Homer does play by play, but all he spends real passion on is his woody for Aaron Rodgers. He and Thunder have been giddy the last two days because they are going to the Final 4. I understand their happiness at that, just question why 540 would waste the bucks on sending them. Thunder loves the Badgers anyway.
