Fresh off his personal Instagram page......
He confirmed he is staying at Marquette, glad hes sticking with the program.
It Would have sucked to lose him.
Big year coming from Steve, especially if he can spend more time at the four than the five.

Yes Sir, with Otule, DG and Jamil gone.
His time is Now!
Good to hear. Would have been very interesting to see how many of our guys transferred had Buzz stayed.
Now we need an instagram tracker meme....soon we'll need a linked in one. ::)
Good find :)

Steve shot the ball (including lay ups) very poorly this year. He also had trouble guarding his man regardless of position. Improvements in these areas will be necessary regardless of position.

True, but he is a natural rebounder with instincts you can't teach. We're going to need that next year.

We've been through this over and over. It's difficult to play effectively when you know you'll get yanked if you mess up. Thomas and Wilson were far from good shooters and were not the defensive stoppers Buzz liked to boast. But they played 35 MPG. It's obvious that Taylor lost interest and wanted out. I don't blame him. Hopefully it's not to late for JJJ.

He shot 58 percent from inside the arc when he was getting somewhat consistent PT and understood his role as a freshman.
Perhaps a little less being jerked around will help.

Buzz would have had no choice but to play him next season, at least until LF becomes eligible. Would have been something if he had in fact left when tons of playing time is out there for him. He'll have a challenging start to the season having to play the 5 most likely. Hope he can keep his confidence up. He clearly and understandably lost it this year. I think he has great potential, and I'm glad he's staying.
I like Steve's chances for a big year.

Basketball is all about Rhythm and flow....
Guys like him and Dawson could never get a feel for the game or a legit chance playing spot minutes....
The one game they got legit PT.... Georgetown. . . Case closed.....
Will every game be a Georgetown game, No....
But you cant be effective playing 8-10 minutes a game in 2-3 minute stretches.
So everyone but JJJ has been heard from and they are all staying, correct?

Hopefully JJJ will hear from Wojo and like what he hears. Some people have posted here that he was going to leave. Don't know if that was true, but going from starting a couple of games to numerous DNP's sure must have messed with his psyche.
MU was going to be lacking in two areas next year; point guards and height. Losing Duane Wilson and STJ would have been really bad for Buzz and hard to explain to fans.

Heck use Mayo as a great example too.
Late in the year when he started getting "your our guy" treatment he was phenomenal. Created for others and took over when no one else could score(basically all the time).

They were not going to lose Duane Wilson. He said in the extended interview that he will be one of the guys that talks to Buzz going forward.
A number of the initially tweeted quotes reflect poorly on Buzz but the extended interviews reveal a more complicated relationship with each player*. Heck even Mayo who after said they didn't like each other said they would probably talk for the rest of their lives.
*Except Taylor. That relationship was F'd.

That already happens on the Fortune 500 message boards.
"Oh did you see the assistant VP at Chase updated her LinkedIn, now it doesn't say anything?? Inside sources say her move to Wells Fargo is done deal."
It'll be good to see Steve playing for a coach not actively trying to sabotage his career.
This is big for MU, we need to keep him, he can rebound and shoot. He should be better suited for an up tempo style.
Imagine what our front line would have been like, especially in the first semester, if Steve left? Glad he is coming back, he should have a great season next year.

Does anyone else think that Steve Taylor could be 2015's Frank Kaminisky? Presumably, he is going to be put offensive that will leverage his skill set, and with Wojo's work with big men over the years at Duke, 2015 looks to be setting up to be a nice year for Steve. He might not be able to take Marquette to a Final Four, but he could position himself as one of the marquee big guys in the Big East headed into his senior season.

The guy completely controls the offensive glass and has a nice mid range shot. With a supportive coach the sky is the limit.

Why are you inferring that I called him a liar, when I never said that?

Buzz gave him a stress fracture? Buzz gave him the flu?
What great lengths Buzz went to in order to put Duane in a position where he should decide to redshirt!
That article is straight from the horse's mouth. Duane chose to redshirt. Buzz encouraged it but Duane chose it.
There are many squirmy things about Buzz's tenure, this is not one of them.
And before you say "talk to someone close to the program" I have. They don't back up your story.
Physically STJ and Deonte have the most prototypical NBA bodies. Glad Steve is staying. Strikes me as a really nice kid.
Glad to see Taylor come back, something I doubt he would have done if Character Revealed was still at MU.
Looking forward to seeing what he can do without being screwed with.

Actually, the inside story on Bert and Taylor is numbing. It certainly undermines Bart's carefully crafted public image. Every recruit he goes after needs to read that. From what I've heard and read I thought he was extremely odd. The reality is far worse: he is dangerous.
As an Air Force officer you know that your primary mission is to take care of your men. That is the essence of leadership. Burt's got it completely turned around. And running a tax write off social program for disadvantaged kids doesn't absolve him.

He answered very honestly, and said I dont know, its not looking good. Didnt post it because I didnt want scoop to explode but good to see him in a MU uni next fall.

Guess you talked to the wrong guy. But then again, you are a Buzz apologist, so that goes with your territory.
BTW, when the Coach encourages it and you have been cleared to play, and then he sits you for a backup PG what would you do? I know, I know, you would keep slurping Buzz.

Yes, the kid had a stress fracture.
Yes the kid was cleared to play.
Yes Buzz encouraged a RS.
No, the kid initially did not want to RS.
Yes, Buzz did not play him--instead used a backup PG because of his love for Derrick
Yes, the kid looked at his options, given that el Buzzo, the height of disingenuosness, was not going to give the PT, chose a RS.
Yes, he was forced.
How is that for your conspiracy theory.
And BTW, if the kid had played for the remaining 20 games or so, maybe, just maybe, we would have won some of those games, instead of getting 35 minutes of Derrick.
So, yes, Buzz squeezed the kid. Typical Buzz. My way or the highway. Because Derrick be my boy.
