I like this hire. I am sitting here wondering if there would be any degree of "freshness" if we had hired Howland or Martin and I just don't know if there would've been. And if the initial reactions of some of our existing players are any indication, some freshness is needed.
I am also encouraged that he seems to indicate he's been offered other head jobs, but chose Marquette. I think that says a lot about where our program is. For instance, would he have taken a job like Iowa? LSU? Wake? By the sound of it, I'm not so sure.
Maybe I've been swayed too much by the press conference, but I've got a good feeling about this now.

+1
You're a fan. It's what fans do
Wojo won the news conference. It seems the current roster is happy with the hire. Now the test comes on the recruiting front.
Those first two points show a welcome trend.
We're also seeing some cracks in the Buzz PR machine in Milwaukee.

I'm in too.
I think PRN/CSN hit it right on the head, there's a fresh vibe with Wojo that I really like for MU.
MU's in a transition period on virtually every level, both in the administration and with the men's basketball program. I wasn't a fan of Martin or Wardle being hired, I liked Howland a lot, but Wojo brings a new energy to the program, a new approach.
He's been associated with greatness his entire playing and coaching career. People might not have liked him as a player because he was gritty, a grinder, hated to lose, and even though he wasn't the most athletic player, he tried to outwork and outhustle you every night. If that's the kind of coach we are getting, with a good pedigree, and financial resources MU is giving him, sign me up for the Wojo bandwagon.
