May not be the ONE everyone was pining for - but my gut is still a good hire

That's for "hairy wet cats" that want to make no decision and then revise history once we see how he does.

HAHA - beautiful
Should add the Chicos answer. Will respond in 5 years.
Option 3....we'll know in 5 years. If he is good, he'll be gone because that's what coaches here do. If he is bad, he'll be gone.

Buzz didn't leave because he was good. He was offered other positions because of his success, but that's not why he left.

There are a number of reasons, which will present themselves in the coming weeks and months.

And is that number single-digit or double-digit?
This poll is five years premature. Duh.

Seems like we always hear stuff like this, but the "number of reasons" never quite materialize, at least publicly. Don't doubt there are lots of good reasons, just doubt I will ever hear exactly what they are.
Dobze
my suggestion is to welcome him and let'r rip. comes with a great background. just because he was under the radar shouldn't play a part in our approval or disapproval-i like the choice though

Agreed!
I'm not impressed by the hire but I will wait until I see who is on Wojo's staff and how many recruits he can keep. I'm not sure who did what on Duke's coaching staff but over the past few years, fewer schools have done less with such talent. I also can't think of a 'big' that has gone through Duke and thought 'wow, he really developed'.
I am not very excited, but I wouldn't call it a "bad hire". Time will tell.

We will know in 6 months or less: Will the recruits stay, will no one leave, can he land Diamond Stone? And if guys do leave who does he bring in? Those should be answered in 6 months time.

I don't know - I mean he has been with coach K for a long time, and maybe Coach K imparted some of his experience staying at one program - if you read those Wojo quotes from the other post that talk about him moving on from Duke, he refers repeatedly to "building my own program" - I think given the chance, Wojo might be more inclined to stay at one place and build his own thing rather than jump around to the next higher paying job - if we give him the resources, I could see it

For your info, I voted good hire, but it is way to early to tell.

You keep saying that, and I have no doubt you are correct. But, the implication is that you KNOW the reasons. If you know, how about spillin' the beans so the rest of us don't have to wait weeks and months?

If the last coach alleviated Scoop boredom for six years, we should be set for some time with this one.
