8th time is the charm for WojoThis is the story of a hard working Polish American seeking to advance his career by finally getting the big job. For years he did his job and did it well, but he craved advancement. On seven occasions he had the chance to advance, and each time it did not happen. Over the years, we remembered some of his inspirational quotes:

Pearls of wisdom from Wojo. It is no wonder then that Wojo finally made it on the 8th try. After failing the sergeant's exam seven previous times, the 8th was the key to victory as he was promoted in season 4.
We salute you Wojo...congratulations on your promotion and welcome to Marquette.

What is the nonsense you guys posted? I never heard of him interviewing 7 other times for a HC job. Did I miss something?
Hacked Sidewalks?
Wojciechowski has been on Duke's sideline for more than 15 years. He's had opportunities to become a head coach but has turned them down. One day, however, he won't.
"I have had chances (to leave), and I want to be a head coach," he said, "but I have to balance that. I have a special situation here. One, I was able to start coaching at a real young age (22). I started younger than most. I've had some amazing experiences at Duke. I think that'll prepare me when the time comes when I am a head coach.
"I love Duke," he continued. "I love working for Coach K. But I also want to have my own program. When the time's right, I'll know it. And it'll be right for me. It'll be right for my wife and my kids. And hopefully when that time comes, I'll be ready to build my own program that's similar to the one we have here in terms of having high-character kids – guys who, when they step between the lines, play as hard as they possibly can for each other.

American pop culture is lost on some folks. A little fun today about the Original Wojo on April Fools day and his rise through the ranks....the same day we hire Wojo in his first rise to the top.

EDITORS NOTE: Wojo is a reference to the 1970's sitcom Barney Miller who struggled to get advancement in his career. Failing the sergeant's exam 7 times and finally passing the 8th time. It is also April Fool's Day, just having some fun and humor for the old timers today.
