they didn't really have info all along. is this the impact hire you were all talking about? is this Marquette aiming high? if this whole process has taught us anything... it's don't believe "insiders" on message boards. wait till the news in reported by a reputable source.
Welcome Wojo, can't wait for next season.
Totally.
I'm sure IWB is a nice guy, but over the course of the last two weeks he has lost a lot of credibility.
Or, you know, they knew things that were going on and reported them to us as best they could in a very fluid situation. One or the other. Hell, Gary Parrish was blindsided by Cuonzo staying at Tennessee in the 11th hour. Hard to believe someone with serious connections to people in/out of MU could know things that may have changed?
For the record I did say it wasn't Shaka or Howland. Might have been ill informed about there being a hire but I got who it wasn't right.

Perhaps. But when you say something is a done deal, that usually means its final. No changes. When things change, you lose credibility.

I dont necessarily disagree with that. But, if you were told by multiple people that it was a "Done deal" with a coach, would you relay that message to people you knew? I wonder if all the national writers, etc would have said the same things IWB said if they had the info he had. I don't know the answer. There were just as many people saying Cuonzo was done. Coaching searches/hires these days are difficult situations all around.

It was a done deal. No person, no matter their sources, can account for a human being having a change of heart.
Just be happy we didn't get to the Donovan/Magic or Altman/Arkansas stage. Saved a lot of laughter on Marquette.

Reporting as best they can is appreciated. "Done deal" is a completely different beast.

+1
Give us updates. But don't give us #donedeal until it is a done deal.
