NOTICE I LEFT HOWLAND OFF THE LIST.
Let's assume he's not a candidate. So, who among the rest would you like to see?
Did I miss any realistic names?
I voted Archie Miller, but he isn't a realistic candidate.

Thread below said he might be in the mix afterall.
If anyone votes Bruce Weber, please show yourself out.
I voted for Wardle because I feel bad for how much hate he's been receiving. I loved that dude when he played for us.
Define "realistic." Because there's a high probability that none of the coaches you've listed above will be the next head coach at MU (and that includes Howland).
Where is the "None of the above" option?

Someone has to coach the team?
Todd Mayo, player coach?
So far the votes are scattered. Votes for every candidate.
SCOOP IS DIVIDED!!!
Maybe we should just let Diamond Stone pick our next coach. That's one way we could separate ourselves from the competition.
I voted for Manning, but is there any reason to believe he is a viable candidate in the minds' of those making the decision? I have not heard his name mentioned other than by fellow Scoopers.

+1000
Dude was one of the toughest warriors ever to don our uniform. The disrespect he's received from some has been sickening. I would be proud to have him as our coach.........someday.
Why is Howland not on the list? Because he's obviously the most qualified?
I voted for Miller because he's the only option on this list who would be remotely in the ballpark.
Archie is not realistic. Therefore, this poll isnt realistic. Please HURRY and hire cuonzo!

As it seems we have cooled in him.

Because Scoopers only see resumes and not what goes on behind the scenes. We know that Howland's resume beats every other name out there. But it is very unlikely he is coming because all the non-resume stuff on Howland is not so good.
We know scoop wants Howland. I assume Heisenberg is attempting to see which way the pro-Howland crowd goes if the admin says no to him.

And since the votes are scattered all over the place, it means the vast majority of scoopers would be upset with any of the listed options. Looks like the "least upsetting" at the moment is Miller....

Assuming he is an actual candidate and not an internet rumor.

The amount that the happiness of Scoopers should play in this decision is less than zero.

False. MUScoop polls is how the last few coaches were picked.
No WarriorCode option? I would recruit at a high level, run an exciting style, glad-hand all the alums, run a charity, my players would never get in trouble, we'd have a perfect APR score, we would win every sportsmanship award, and only hang banners for Final Fours or Natty's. I try to meet every qualification Scoop wants, and I don't wear dorky spaceman glasses OR have a butt-part haircut OR get compared to any of the Stooges. I'll flip off the Badgers, start a home-and-home with ND, and get UConn to drop football. I'll browse Scoop for coaching advice and to keep my finger on the pulse of the fanbase. The resume is lacking but I'm young, ambitious and consider Marquette my dream job. Duke? UNC? Kansas? No thanks, don't mess with my happy.
That about covers it, yea?

From the options available, we could do worse ...

Really surprised to see WOJO with more votes than Manning - Manning has all the "pedigree" WOJO has with head coaching experience (two years, in second year he tied for 1st in Conf USA and made it to the tourney) - plus he has professional playing experience (WOJO stayed right on the Duke bench after playing)

Guess I don't understand how NBA playing experience makes someone a better coach. Of the top coaches in the game today, the only one I know with NBA time is Donovan...who played 1 season in New York. Not coach K, not Self, not Calimari, Pitino. I'm sure there a couple others who played a little, but I'd bet there are more top 20 coaches
without NBA playing experience than
with it.

I voted (for Danny Manning if you are curious). This is a place where we can discus our opinions. But that doesn't mean that expect that the committee takes my feelings into account.

Hoiberg and Ollie are doing pretty well.

Like I said, I'm sure someone could come up with a few more. Still, with Donovan, that makes three. I think you'll find many more highly successful high D-1 coaches without NBA experience than with it....

I never said I expected them to take our feelings into account either. I just pointed out that if we don't hire Howand, lots of people won't be happy with the choice.
Doesn't necessarily do anything for their coaching ability, but it does give them the exposure of what it might take to be successful at the next level, which is what alot of these kids want - probably helps with recruiting more than anything
Martin is out. My list of competitors dwindles...
