"Buzz is doing a great job making Cords job harder"
I started thinking (I know, dangerous).
What if Shaka agreed to come here, then called Buzz for his input? And what if Buzz basically talked Shaka into changing his mind? Weaker conference, bad things to say about MU admin, etc. Perhaps Buzz badmouthing us and the BE to the media is the least of the problems he's caused us.
Have to admit, I wondered that too. But I probably shouldn't be thinking either.
Did not happen
Reading one of Shaka's catch phrases has me thinking the same thing. Shaka says "don't run from happiness" umm... Buzz and him must talk.

Buzz is a fraud. I've been saying it for years, since he cut Newbill. No one who acts like every player is his son would screw a guy like that. Add to that the coverup and nothing would surprise me.
Buzz is a tool and will be toiling in mediocrity soon enough. VA Tech will give him a long leash and like a dog he will twist himself up in it and get stuck. Then they will turn on him quick and he's gone. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Brent is a phony and he knows it.
I just hope our program can be as dominant as VCU's. They have a new video score board instead of the chalk drawings Jeb used to do. And did you know they've been to the tourney 13 times? That's amazing. Cuonzo's interview is in 45 mins.....

The Newbill deal was dirty...no two ways about it...get you have to do what you feel is best for your program...but breaking a commitment to an 18 year old kid and ripping his heart out in the process is pretty unethical..

Let's pretend for a moment that Shaka was going to take the job and he called Brent (that would never, ever happen for a host of reasons) ....
Brent has to recruit against Shaka in VT. Brent would beg Shaka to to go Milwaukee. Brent would send the VT plane to help him get to Milwaukee as fast as possible.

I would doubt this. Normally there are non-disparagement clauses built into employment agreements at this level. If Buzz sabotaged MU's attempt to hire another coach, it could land him in a world of hurt.

Borderline illegal if there was a LOI. Breach of contract, promissory estoppel, etc.

After all that, the kid could really play.
People finally found the religion.....

Yes, and remember that all coaches are "hired to be fired."
You have to assume their is 100% chance Brent leaves VT someday (as their is a 100% chance our new hire will leave someday). That is what coaches do, change jobs.
If Brent is bad-mouthing MU, or interfering in anyway, especially after the way he left New Orleans, then VT is his last job. He will have a reputation and VT will "protect itself" when Brent leaves. They will DESTROY him and he will probably be unemployable after VT.
Brent knows this, too smart not to. So, he's saying nothing behind the sciences that will impact our search in anyway. He has a reputation to protect too.
Trust me, the media blow up on Monday had a helluva lot more to do with SS not coming then Buzz did
