Title: Could the USF Debacle Be Slowing Our Search?

I'll tell you one circus of epic proportions people know about.......South Florida. The Bulls spent 11 days vetting and interviewing candidates only having to terminate the guy they settled on since he lied about a college degree. That's a clusterunnatural carnal knowledge.

Could this be the delay?  Have they extended an offer to Howalnd subject to a background investigation so we don't have a Masielo/USF FU?

And given all that happened at UCLA, that investigation will take several days.

thoughts?

Yikes. If we're fighting with USF for a coach, we're in more trouble than I thought.

I think he means MU is doing a background check on our next coach.

Ahhhh, I get it now.

Don't think that's the issue. I believe MU just doesn't want Howland as coach. Whether it's the BoT, Dick Strong, whoever.

If MU really wanted him, they would have hired him already.

This

Are we afraid we hire Howland and then a few days later the LA media "drops a bomb" so we are being extra careful by doing a very through background check.  This take time.

See Masilo/USF as the latest reason one wants to be through.

i have a source that said the shaka debacle was all a trick to buy MU time for dick strong to complete howland's background check.  he keeps getting distracted with screws, shoe laces, and the SEC.

USF MIGHT be holding MU up because they offered UNLV coach Dave Rice the job.  He and BH have the same agent.  Howland would be a candidate for UNLV if Rice left.  Remember Howland recruited Shabazz Muhammad from Bishop Gorman high school here in Vegas.  LA and LV are a relatively short drive from each other.
