Title: .442
Post by: Texas Western on March 27, 2014, 09:01:31 AM
Keep in mind we are at this place because our coach stuck with a .442 free throw shooting point guard and thus a 4 on 5 offense. Hopefully our new coach will recognize this and sort out the rotations properly.

Oh, that. I thought you were posting the average blood alcohol level at Turners post game.

This is a big part as to why everyone is excited. Any coach with a shred of perspective, AKA anyone outside of Buzz, wouldn't dream of playing DWilson as often as he did last year.

Pretty Much. While the Frosh who shot 81% from the line rode the pine all year.

Played one game 30+ Min against Gtown won and looked great. Never played 20 min again.

But we're crazy for pointing this out.

True windyplayer- no coach in with half a brain is gonna play him 35 min again. I think Buzz knew he was leaving and just being loyal.

We are in this place because when Buzz went to Cords with the VT offer and attempted to use it as leverage, Cords didn't play.

Thought that was an Oldsmobile.  Olds is out of production.  This topic should be as well.  Wait until October to re-wad your panties.

If Buzz tried to use a VT offer as leverage.....sheeesh that's horrible negotiation, he might want to rethink having an agent.

I don't disagree that he used the VT offer as leverage, I am just curious how you use an offer for less $ and less resources then MU's program as leverage?

"Uh, at a losing program for less money.  Your last two attempts at this were much, much better."

I would like to see us hire a coach who actually played college basketball on any level. I think that perspective is important. Anyone that has played the game would understand that our point guard had inherent limitations that cannot be coached up.

It speaks volumes about our fan base how people try to change the subject. A spot on statement about Derrick Wilson's struggles but Buzz chose to stick with him. This fan base is so delusional. That wouldn't fly at Kentucky,  kansas or duke. I'm glad Buzz left because that would guarantee that Derrick Wilson wont start. Im marquette til the day I die, however I wont ride or die with Derrick Wilson like Buzz did.

Because this topic has NEVER been addressed before, right?

Before you even think of questioning a fan base maybe you should actually learn a little bit about what the fan base around here has been talking about all year.

I've heard variations from a couple of places that have nothing to do with message boards.   All of them 3rd and 4th hand, so I am not going to claim them as sources.    Differences in details, consistent in theme.

We usually get along really well here, even when we have disagreements.  Making statements like "This fan base is so delusional. That wouldn't fly at Kentucky,  kansas or duke." is just an attempt to pi$$ people off.

It's not so much pissed at the topic, it's more because we've been discussing this topic for the past 3 months or so. It's the proverbial dead horse. So "calling it like you see it" basically is like us having to watch the same rerun of season 3 of Lost 400 times in a row: nothing new has happened, no plot progression, and the same exact issues are still there despite wasting hours of our lives.

I know you're new. And now you've been told why people seem standoffish on this one. And you can calm down now with the "get a life" part as it's slightly hypocritical. Thanks for being understanding.

Ah. See, I was expecting a spirited debate on the merits of the flexible,  but offensively dull, 4-4-2 soccer formation. I have been misled. However,  as long as we are on the topic now I'd like to say that defensively minded formations are ruining soccer and should be banned.

Honestly, as frustrating as D Wil was this year, I can't be mad at him. Have to imagine Duane was gonna get a lot of his PT before that injury. I think Derrick will be used as a backup and defensive specialist. He's solid in his role he played as a sophomore.
