If Marquette is hiring Presidents to try to lure basketball coaches through Rob Jeter's word, we are in much bigger trouble than if we hire Brian Wardle...

Very well done.
Don't know if there is a bit of truth in it, but it sure makes since.

I'd be happy with either Howland or Shaka.  But missing out on both would be a huge mistake IMO.  Can't afford a no-name assistant or mid-major coach.

ITS HAPPENING!!!!

Relax.  Respect the process.

That seems plausible, but the thought that a President was hired just to appease a potential coach is the only far-fetched part... otherwise, good theater!

I would agree if it were true.  However, in his farewell speech to UWM, Lovell stated that MU contacted him months ago, but he turned MU down.

So what changed his mind?

Money talks, folks.

We needed a basketball coach, so we needed to pony up for a Prez a basketball coach would want to coach under.

Are you saying that the Pres search/hiring was a situation of salary/compensation? As in, Lovell might not be here with what they expected/estimated they would spend on the position?

So it is even worse than the comments above, we bought a prez so we could get a coach.

In fairness, isn't this their first go 'round with a lay person?

Guess this makes sense previously they only needed to provide housing, food, and supply of beer or alcohol of their choice.  ;D
