Personally my favorites will always be the ones we had the last 4 years or so.

I like the new jerseys although I would make two changes.
1) Make the shoulders the same color as the rest of the jersey.
2) Use the Marquette font from our previous jerseys.

They do look sharp though!

They're ok.  I'm not a big fan of the black triangles (parallelograms?) on the shoulders.

They are navy blue.  It's just hard to see in that picture.  All of the jerseys have the navy blue shoulders except the navy blue jersey which has gold shoulders.

I had the same thoughts...not sure why they chose to change the font on Marquette but used the same numbers as previous jerseys...other than that pretty cool.

Yeah I think I was just expecting last years jersey with the only change being the sides and trim the current ones have.

They've grown on me, but I would make one change that I think would blend the traditions a bit. I would keep the design of the current jerseys, but use the block lettering and numbers they had on the 2002-2003 jerseys (below). I think having some continuity between the lettering and numbers would look better.

ive got to disagree with you though.  i think these jerseys are a much more expressive, dynamic style and the block letters would not mesh well into that style.

I think they look 100 times better in person than they do in pictures too.

I think the new jerseys are amazing. We stand out now, before we just had Nike copycat jerseys. This is something that will definitely set MU apart from all other teams this season, and I hope we continue to try new aggressive stylings every 2-4 years depending on the popularity.

Isn't that what they did in the 70's?  Have the team design a new jersey every few years.  I'm all for it as those were some of the most popular jerseys Marquette has had.

I love the new jerseys... different then most jerseys... and have a flair to them that Marquette is known for in the Al days.

Absolutely no disrespect, but how long will MU wear the Al patch? I loved Al, was there when we won it all. We have the court, the practice facility etc. I know this is a tough one.

why would we get rid of it, think it adds to the jersey that real basketball fans recognize.  Very nice to respect easily the most famous coach we have had.  Maybe it will be replaced with Tom... haha just kidding, PRN will love that statement.  All a joke, I hope Al stays there forever

I completely agree with this. I love the new ones because I feel like they are more 'powerful' mostly due to the new writing. I feel that the old ones were nice also, but without the impact of these new ones. My mom is visiting and i may have just convinced her to buy me one for xmas  :)

I like them 2 i think they are a little more hip and different from what everyone else has going on. i think it would be really cool if the players get to help design them because something little like that could help sway what a recruit is thinking... if they find a jersey cool looking that might make them a little more interested... sounds kind of a lame thing to take into consideration when picking schools but remember we are talking about 18 and 19 year olds who want to look "cool"

Yea, I know I said I didn't like them (DePaul's), and that I hoped MU's weren't the same.

I think MU's unis are fine. They aren't my favorites, but I do think its cool that they are a converse/wade brand.

I know the whole "retro" movement is still cool... but at some point (probably soon) retro is going to be out of style. I'm all for "traditional", but a lot of the "retro-esque flair" that a lot of sports teams are going for is going to look kinda silly (look at the Washington wizards... they are gross).

Anyways, its just a uniform, and I'm not Calvin Klein, so it doesn't really matter what I think.  :D

I wish they would have used the Wade silhouette logo rather than the Converse star on them similar to how UNC uses the Jordan silhouette instead of the Nike swoosh.

Or the LeBron Logo on the Ohio State jerseys last year...

Two things:

1) I concur. Wade's "Converse Star" logo would have been more apropos. After all, even though they "look" like DePaul's jerseys, I find it hard to hate on being Team Wade's first and only (?) NCAA team. (Side question: Is Richards HS going to go Team Wade?)

2) Always and forever...AL. Never get rid of it. Thank God it's still there.

Wow, that powder blue uniform is horrible...why are they using yellow and black AND powder blue? Why powder blue in the first place?

There is no black on the jersey, that is navy. As many have said, the picture of the jersey from the Warrior Shoppe looks different than the ones in person.

I like doing something unique.  The uni changes over the last 10-12 year have been very minor.  These are back in the spirit of the bumblebees.

Yeah, I'm sorry, but I'm not fond of the new direction to powder blue.

Just cleaning out my closet for winter clothes, and I have 3-4 powder blue t-shirts from MU .. I can't imagine wearing them.   Now the team has powder blue warmups, etc.  I like how universities identify with colors, like UW and red, etc.

Now MU has 4 colors.  gold, blue, powder blue, and white.  Well, I guess they must think gold had its run, now let's bring in some other colors .. ruining the slow acceptance of gold.  Bummer.

You're right about the progression.. how long til the BOT announces we're now the Marquette Powder Blues?

The new powder blue unis are hideous. The whites and navy's look decent at best. Haven't seen them in person yet. Will have a better opinion by this weekend's game. But regardless, they have too much going on on them, and then you have the Al patch, then "Marquette" in a font that just doesn't belong. I don't think they're that great. Jury still out.

I agree with the font....really doesn't work.....not sure who/why they would've "signed off" on that font....the same font as the last couple years would've worked much better....they're using the same font from last year for the players' names on the back...why change the front?

I actually don't mind the color schemes.

I'd rank the new jerseys like this:

1) Gold
2) Baby Blue
3) White
4) Navy Blue (A distant 4th)

Last year I'd rank them:
1) White
2) Gold
3) Navy

I love these jerseys and think the powder blue is great.  I can't wait to grab a pair of those shorts when I am up in MKE for the UWM game.  I like the font too, I don't think the old font would fit in as well on the front; but I guess you can't please everyone.
