Of course he would ... Would you go to a program with no coach?

Ask him again when we have one.

Frustrating, but not a shock. Unless MU pulls out the Shaka miracle, doubt Hill ever sets foot on campus.

Completely reasonable. Hope he ends up here.

Don't worry, Jerry Wainwright will make sure we don't lose any recruits.... :o

I am going to see who (Marquette) hires before making a decision," Hill said

I wish, but apparently MU has expressed zero interest. No interest in the National Coach of the Year???  ?-(

Get a coach, if he still wants out then let him go.  Just not to Bazz after he spent God knows how much of our recruiting budget chartering planes to see him 20 times.  The Mizzou fans can have the victory in that case.

Why is Shaka considered a "cure-all?" Real question.

Howland's resume is significantly better. I think all the hype surrounding Shaka has more to do with offers he has declined than anything else. Yes, he made a final four...in an era of incredible parity.

So what we learned is that Ahmed Hill is a sane and reasonable person.
Good to know.

Shaka runs a energetic and exciting system. He's sexy in the basketball community. He's also black. If he gets the facilities and environment he wants, his recruiting is going to skyrocket.

This-- no brainer. Every top kid in Milwaukee and Alot in Chicago area will dive on the floor to grab their pen to sign to play for SS.

Yup.   The sanest, most restrained and well thought out think he could say under the circumstances.

Why would his recruiting skyrocket just because he's at MU?

He already does a good job in that area.

Don't grovel, pine, or fret for this guy anymore... lets move on, quickly. He is not coming? Fine. Lets move on. He's 36 leave him be. Keep our pride, vision and dignity and mainly our peace.

Don't beg Shaka Smart if he does not want to come. It's just basketball. Find another guy and lets go. If recruits want to bolt let them.

Lets start over. There, I typed it. That is where I am at right now. We look desperate in here.

We have brought it on ourselves not having a President, Provost or A.D. It's the big picture. It is what it is.

Stop. Shrug. Breathe. Turn around, and move forward. . . MU will be okay. We need courage.

Key words - he doesn't have the budget and resources to go a great job nationally.  We let our last coach charter a plane from MKE to Georgia 20+ times to see a single recruit and buy an assistant who had just taken a Big Ten job...not things that you can do at all but a handful of programs.

Seriously. At this point mechayadayada, you're seeing what you want to see...or not seeing what you don't want to see

Well said. Marquette is bigger than one coach or player.

Is that a picture of Shaka as your avatar?  (Serious question...small, hard to tell)  If so...?
