Title: Marcus Lemonis Referenced MU on CNBC (some may not like it)
Post by: Tugg Speedman on March 25, 2014, 12:56:31 PM
Marcus Lemonis is a early 1990s MU Grad.  He lives in Miami, is the President of Camping World (which is a large company and a huge NASCAR sponsor) and is "The Profit" on CNBC's Tuesday night show.

He was asked about the Washington Redskins dropping Redskins.  He said that Marquette University changed its name from Warriors to Golden Eagles.  He said it was emotional and contentious but was necessary, like it is necessary for the Redskins to change their name.

Warriors is dead to Lemonis

FYI - Lemonis is close with Father Wild.

I still do not understand why the school just did change the logo, yet keep the Warriors nickname.

Golden State uses the Warriors name, and they receive ZERO complaints.

He probably stuffed the ballot box back then for "Gold", too.

Marcus is a former track athlete at Marquette, has been very successful since graduating, does a ton of charity work and is a huge supporter of Marquette.  He has the right to his opinion whether people agree with it or not.

Agree w/U 100%. Warriors is NOT exclusive to Native Americans.

He's Greek.  He actually has a business reality show on CNBC now called "The Profit".
