So I was just thinking about two of the most successful coaching hires that Bill Cords made while at MU and I couldn't help but wonder if I could use the website www.morphthing.com to see if I could project what his next coaching hire might look like. You know that website - it allows you to merge two faces to see what would happen if they produced offspring? So, by morphing the faces of O'Neill and Crean, ladies and gentlemen WELCOME THE NEXT COACH OF MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY!

well done
I would actually be more than fine with Marshall and I hope if Smart falls through that it ends up being him. I know this was meant to be a joke but I can't help myself!
Just to repeat, Marshall's WSU team got better in every ranking category (overall, offense, and defense) in every year except for one offensive ranking in one year and one overall ranking.
That means pretty much every year the offense got better (except for 2012-2013). Every year the defense got better. Almost every year the overall rank got better.
And he did the same sort of thing with Winthrop too.
edit - I don't know how to tell the difference between less and more

I noticed this amazing trend with his teams as well. I'd like to think he could do wonders with the young nucleus here by the time they're seniors along with the recruiting resources he has never had before (plus a few high producing JUCO transfers he'll obviously plug in along the way ;))
I must admit this whole thing is like expecting a baby; can't wait to here it wail.

So me refreshing scoop all day for the past 90+ hours constitutes the longest labor ever?
Here is the same chart for Marshall with different formatting. Every year the rank improves it's green; every year the rank gets worse it's red.
It's AMAZING

I compared it with my wife's labor...I slept on the couch last night.
