Question:
24 hours later, how are you feeling about Buzz's departure?
Option 1: Fuming. Need a couple more days. Maybe a ticket to Blacksburg will help.
Option 2: Still ticked. Don't ask.
Option 3: Over being angry. Ready to move on.
Option 4: Happier than a pig in slop!
I think we've had some time and so much of our energy and attention on Buzz leaving.
How are you doing?

I was pissed when Tanned Tommy bolted but BW leaving has left me feeling good about the future of MU hoops. We really did not want him around our campus much longer from what I heard. And if MU acts quickly and smartly we will have a coach with better principles who will take the program to the next level. In a year from now we will have trouble recalling who was BW.
What if you were never mad and still aren't because Buzz Williams did not invent Marquette University men's bball?

So what was it that you heard? What did Buzz do?
What are the chances that we will know definitively what happened, <0?

A clash of values might be the best way to describe it. And people get tired of prima donnas after a while. BW wanted to run the team as an independent entity but the administration reminded him that the team is a subset of the whole and that the whole has rules, regulations, and expectations along many dimensions. Someone had to compromise and it wasn't going to be the University.
If this is the case, with both Cords and Fr. Wild back, we can assume things were pretty out of wack.
I put ready to move on...but it depends largely on what we do with the opportunity.
Get Howland, Smart or Marshall, and I'm happy. Settle for Miller or Wardle, not so much.
I got over Crean in about 3 days. That experience helped give me the callous to not need to get over this one at all. I liked Crean when he was here. I liked Buzz more than I liked Crean. I like MU basketball more than I liked either one of them when I was at the height of my affection for them. They are now the past. To be remembered. I care far more about the future.

That's a really good way of putting it. That sentiment underlies everything I feel about this situation.
I'm over it but if the fallout gets worse (recent news of Cohen being released of NLI), he may be more than a persona non grata to MU fans.
Still apprehensive - a bit. Until we get the word on who will be our next head coach, we are effectively in purgatory.
Wasn't angry about Crean or Buzz leaving, just totally shocked both times.
Grateful for what both did for the program.
Recognize that I will never know everything about the situation and hard to accurately judge anyone I don't know personally.

For what it's worth, I spoke to our Jebbie (who lives at The Stratford) celebrant after Mass this evening. He told me that Fr. Bill Kelly, TEAM CHAPLAIN, had no inkling of what was going down and was as stunned as anyone at the news.

Which he means Buzz kept it close to his vest or among a tight group of friends.

Buzz has friends?
I would say that he has contacts, not friends
Anxious. I want a new coach, hopefully one that will convert me to a slurper.

Buzz really kept his distance from people at MU...even from those that did try and befriend him. They eventually just gave up and Buzz wouldn't even acknowledge them if he saw them on campus.

Bump
Where is the option for "totally ambivalent about Buzz's departure but completely optimistic about the future of MU Basketball." ?

I will always fondly remember El Bozo as the phony down home lonesome cowboy. Who had a piss yellow jacket.

No, no. "It is all about relationships"
I'm still aggravated about how it got to this point in the first place.
How's it going to change for the next guy?
