Is Chew, Autry, wainwright or anyone else going to VT with Buzz? Scott Monarch?
Will be telling to see who goes with Buzz and who doesn't.
Recall everyone went with Crean except buzz.

Derrick Wilson better go.
Da Coach turned out to be a Buzz speakin' phony downhome lonesome cowboy. The big user who BSed everybody. Many were very gullible.
Program will take some time to right itself--but Buzzo sure did a job to a lot of people on this board.
IN BUZZ WE TRUST should be the mantra of Obamacare lovers.
Who cares? They can all go and take the horse they all rode in on with 'em.
I think Chew working with Howland would be good. Agree about the rest.
I want Chew, his Chicago recruiting ability is vital. Autry and Wainwright are probably gone. No idea on the rest.
Does anyone know if staff like Todd Smith often follow head coaches? I would love to keep him. He does wonders with these kids' fitness
First of all, let's get back to basics. You need a Prez, and change that freakin' name to WARRIORS!
Go after a big time coach. MU is a basketball school. Don't screw it up and let another coach use this as a
springboard job to a bigger program. Stability
I suspect Scott Monarch will soon find himself back in the Division I ranks.

He's an assistant under Benford at North Texas.

Did not know that ....
Start fresh. They all can go and let new guy pick his people. Looking back on Buzz, and I am a Buzz guy, was he a good basketball coach or not? I talked with someone I trust during the season and he said Buzz knew nothing about coaching. Obviously I am not a basketball coach but I was surprised when I heard that.

I think that Buzz was a good recruiter and leader, but his coaching left a lot to be desired. Terrible at in-game adjustments and his rotations were just mind boggling. I have no doubt that whoever we bring in will be a better X's and O's coach...it's the recruiting that I'm worried about. Buzz was a good bs'er as we have all found out and I think that was part of getting these highly rated recruits in.
Do you think assistants have been ignoring Buzz's call?
"If I don't answer this call, maybe I don't have to go to VaTech."
Derrick and Juan should have their bags packed. There isn't a coach in the country who would play them at all next season.
I would guess Wainwright stays as long as the new coach wants him. He has his roots and family in the Chicago area.
Plus we need him for picture day.
that's pretty harsh. we're going to need some continuity next year. They will be important even if they are not the best players on the court.

At the most I would say Buzz was unproven as a coach from an X's and O's standpoint and this year definitely raised some questions
I have always felt that Buzz was 2/3's of a good coach..., good recruiter, good leader/administrator/planner, poor game coach. I thought he'd pick it up.

Besides Steve, who have we really landed from Chicago?

Chew hasn't been here that long, Steve was in the fold before then. Malek Harris though was Chew I assume (someone correct me if that is wrong).
Chew also landed Jajuan. Aki Collins was recruiting him before he left, since Buzz has no relationship he was lost. Then Chew stepped in and got him to commit. Then Buzz didn't play him.
Definitely the only assistant I'm interested in retaining - time for Wainwright to pack it in, and there's no way Buzz's mini-me Autry is sticking around.
Forget about Chew. He insignificant and easily replaceable with an upgrade.

Jerry back to DePaul, 2015?
I think we need Chew's contacts in Chicago but anybody else who didn't confront Buzz on his starters and rotations needs to find somewhere else to brown-nose

Joe
I didn't realize you and LW were close?
I still don't understand why Buzz picked VT. He is literally climbing an uphill battle in terms of not only recruiting in the ACC, but also in the Mid-Atlantic region (i.e. Gtown, UMD, UVA, VCU, etc,). My guess is that Buzz will fill the roster up with Juco's.

You think he took that job without assurances he could pretty much recruit anyone he wanted, JUCOs at the forefront? Their AD used to be at Cincinnati, not that hard to figure out. Buzz will basically have free reign. They'll be a JUCO all-star team every year, and he'll bring that program places they've never been.
