Spartans getting hosed on fouls 18-7 but still clinging to 10-point lead
-
+1.
I texted my UW buddy an asked him if this game had been moved from Indy to Madison.
-
doesn't really matter because UW will now be a No. 2 and still get two games in Milwaukee. But to watch them makes me sick because they get every single call.

Any chance they play UWM in Milwaukee? That would be great

2 probably, 3 seed possible?
-
The thought had occurred to me before the MU/Xavier game that the Big East would not want MU to win that game. However, I could not convice myself that the refs would be in on the fix. When the Xavier player hit McDermott in the chops yesturday, I was very curious about whether the refs would call a flagrant. They did not, but the refs allowed Xavier to get away with cheap shots against MU and Creighton.

i think UWM plays too close to the Bradley Center to play any games there. I have tix, and I'm not thrilled that I'm going to have to watch the badgers. Boo.

I think they will end up a 3 with the last 2 seed going to either Virginia or Louisville.
-
Both Virginia and Louisville deserve higher seeds than Bucky, even if the Big Ten was great this year.

Uwm could play at the BC, since it's not their home arena.
I'd sell the bucky tix. Helps to prevent vomit
-
Glad I didn't buy NCAA Tix this year so I don't have to go through the hassle of selling them, could not tolerate going to the BC to see the sea of red. I'm sure BB Fran has some explanation on how UW at the BC is a God given thing or the like, their fans make me puke.
-
I hadn't heard it before, but a local radio host yesterday said there is some rule for the tournament that says a 13-16 seed will not be placed in their local region in the first rounds, in fairness to their high seeded opponents. Since UWM is not likely to be seeded higher than 13, they won't be playing at the Bradley Center even though Marquette is the host.

I'm an MU fan. But UW has earned their record this year. Looks more like a team than we did. Not a Ryan fan,
but he's a darn good coach. 700 wins. ''Refs calls them as they sees them''.
-
Absolutely dreading having to watch the Badgers in the first round. Although last time it happened they lost to Pitt in the second round and it was the greatest thing ever. Afterwards Bo kept insisting that UW received no home court advantage playing in Milwaukee. I guess he didn't notice the Bradley Center was in a near complete 'red-out'.

That's a good one.

Yeah, I was there. It was a home game for Bucky.

MSU is the best team in the country when healthy. They could win the whole thing.
-
Florida ain't bad neither, hey?

Maybe, but SEC is not good so it's hard to tell. How many good teams have they beaten?
-
Yeah, I was there. It was a home game for Bucky.
Their opening round game vs Richmond was ridiculous. The Badgers shot lights out in the second half.
Just thinking about that game is making me sick about this weekend.

Lots of injuries this year, but are getting healthy at just the right time. Liking MSU and Louisville right now - same two teams I liked in November

Who has either of those 2 beaten? Wisconsin beat Virginia head to head. Louisville has beaten UCONN and Cinci and that's it. Wisconsin has quite an impressive list of quality wins. I hate UW and expect them out S16 or earlier, but they definitely deserve a higher seed than Louisville and Virginia.

Pitt then knocked them off next, if I recall.

Wisconsin's biggest OOC wins, Virginia and Florida are situations of playing teams at the right time. They got Virginia when they were trying to find their identity and solely trying to rely on Joe Harris to lead them to victory…they've evolved to be a well rounded team. The version UW beat also lost to UW-GB. Florida was without half their team.
St. Louis was what I would call there only legit OOC big win. We'll see if the committee takes into consideration when games were played and what the teams rosters looked like then.
UW also has an ugly home loss to Northwestern and an almost bad loss to Indiana (RPI 97). Neither Louisville or Virginia has such a blemish. Louisville's worst loss is Memphis…RPI 33, and they won their conference tournament.

I agree on the seeding, but I do think Louisville is a better team all around. UW is a strange team this year. When they are good, they can beat anyone. When they are bad, they look really bad, especially on defense.

I've been saying that to my Spartan friends who were despairing as MSU limped through the B1G. 2 players who have played every game. Haven't started their original starting 5 since early December. All of the pieces are there.

Agreed. Louisville is a better team. But if you're looking at seeding Wisconsin deserves a higher seed. Just because they beat Virginia when they weren't playing well doesn't mean that you discount the win over Virginia (referencing a different post), and just because 2 of Florida's players were ineligible doesn't mean you disregard that win. Wisconsin has beaten 2 number 1 seeds and another number 2 seed. Louisville's best win is over a 5 and 7 seed.

Might as well have UW Madison playing in Madison.....same effect.

It's what you get for earning a high seed.

Partly true, but it has a lot more to putting fannies in the seats. Bucky was going to get two games in Milwaukee (as they did a few years back) even if they were a 5 or 6 seed. NCAA hates its national games played in front of 10,000 empty seats, and tickets sold to scalpers doesn't necessarily translate into people in the seats.
